Lovely hotel, gorgeous food.

What a lovely hotel with absolutely beautiful large garden. Our room was in a separate section of the hotel and was lovely and spacious , overlooking trees and greenery. Although there was no shutters or curtains in the room therefore we were awake when the sun rose at 5.30 . Not a massive problem though.
Staff were very friendly. We had evening meal and breakfast here and couldn't fault a thing, food was gorgeous. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area.

Very good address

Very nice discovery. The hotel is in a beautiful stone house. Very welcome. The comfortable room overlooks a garden, beautiful modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Secure parking in the courtyard, a real plus. Excellent restaurant meal, very fine food, homemade. The young couple who recently took over the business went around the tables to talk to us. The restaurant room has just been modernized with a nice decoration. Very good breakfast buffet.
We remember the address for a future visit. We wish the new owners every success!

Great stopover on the way back to the UK

We stayed at the Logis Hostellerie de la Chaumiere on our way back to the UK with our dog, to break up the journey from the Alps to Calais. Not far from the motorway this was an excellent choice. The hotel was very modern, the room in Susan's Hotel was excellent and breakfast and evening meal were superb. Parking was secure and off the road, we were able to park right outside our room. There was a nice garden and a garden gate opening onto a quite footpath, so good for exercising the dog. The dog was also allowed into the restaurant. I will use this hotel in future, and would recommend it to friends.

Pass your way

Dark and sad rooms. The hotel attached to the restaurant is outside; if it rains, as was the case when we went there, we get soaked free.
Given the price of the stay, we expected a rather refined cuisine; this was not the case; a cuisine lacking refinement, pep, seasoning, in short a very very disappointing cuisine and we are not the only ones to think so, because we heard customers "groan" about the quality of the meat.
There are about fifteen tables in the dining room, all equipped with small lamps impossible to light; "there is no battery" we were told!!
The breakfast rather well stocked; once arrived we are left to ourselves; no one comes to check if anything is missing on the buffet and we were forced to ask in the back room, butter and other missing items, from 2 ladies sitting on a couch, phone in hand, chatting instead of taking care of the customers.
Upon arrival the day before at the hotel, we are told breakfast times, i.e. 8:30 / 10 am, but we specify that if we arrive at 10 am, the buffet will have been removed!!!!
In short, if you have another place to go, don't hesitate.

Weekend champagne... ideally located to discover the champagne houses in the Aube but little enthusiasm

Good food, simply presented but tasty, only minus, tarte tatin revisité, according to the cook, didn't even come close to a tarte tatin, was just an apple pie, nothing less, but tasty vanilla ice cream...service was ok, friendly people but don't expect culinary delights..
