Beautiful room

We had a great time at Belle Fontaine. The room was beautiful! The divine breakfast! Emmanuelle welcomed us beautifully. A perfect place to visit Bourges! Thank you so much! We recommend this place.

Perfect address

Close to the cathedral we stopped at beautiful fountain. Owner to the small care room (or rather apartment with bedroom bathroom and private kitchen) of the best standard, delicious and hearty breakfast everything was perfect including the Springer Spaniel of the house active member of the welcoming committee.

Beautiful French B&B

The previous reviews describe this property so well. The owners do speak English and are so welcoming. Breakfast in the morning around a shared table was delicious. Thank you for a warm welcome. Do call ahead so they can open the gate for your parking. I'm attaching pictures of the studio apartment which is outstanding.

French Magic

We had difficulty in finding this gem at first as we were looking for a traditional style hotel - it is not.
This is a large private house with little pretention from the road. However, once the gates were opened we were let into a wonderful garden where we parked our car, and looked back at what can only be described as a ‘classic’ french house. It was built in the 1830’s and beautifully proportioned.
The owner greeted us and showed up to our suite - entrance hall, a large bedroom, en-suite bathroom bigger than most bedrooms, separate toilet. Beautiful wooden flooring and high ceilings. Antique period furniture and books. Also most important after a long days driving, tea making facilities.
This is a private house letting out some of their rooms, and we were made to feel as honoured guests rather than paying customers.
The ‘hotel’ is only a few minutes walk to the cathedral old centre with restaurants and bars a plenty. Although our room overlooked the street, we were not bothered by too much noise at night, only the dustmen’s lorry in the morning when it was time to get up.
Traditional ‘continental breakfast’ with excellent french bread and pastries from the local boulangerie, and we were on our way.
Do not expect ‘mod cons’ such as air conditioning ( large fan in the room).
This was a magical find - don’t tell anyone else !

Couldn't have been any better

Driving down to the South of France we chose Bourge as a mid way stop and having read excellent reviews we chose Belle Fontaine to stay. The reviews were spot on! Excellent is an under statement. The house is in a perfect location to explore Bourges and not too far of the autoroute. From the street you do not see much but when you park in the private car park round the back you appreciate the gorgeous house. Sophie - our host was wonderful and made us very welcome. We only stayed the one night, but had a wonderful breakfast before departing. Thoroughly recommended
