Excellent hotel if you are visiting this interesting area - strongly recommended.

This is an excellent,small, quality hotel if you are visiting this interesting area beyond the more famous "chateaux de la Loire" area. It has very much the country house hotel feel to it and has an excellent restaurant, for which play safe and book when you book the hotel.
Our first experience of a "Teritoria" association hotel and we were suitably impressed. Having read up about this association we recognised their values very clearly in this hotel, particularly in terms of their staff.

Definetly nor a 4*

We arrived by train, as there was no taxi available, we walked 1.3kms with 4 heavy luggages then we were told where our cottage was and had to walk 250m further more. No help was offered, not a buggy or even a trolley for us to push.
"Welcome to the Domaine des Roches"!
The cottage was equipped with the strict minimum. As we were tired and tennis was on, we decided to watch the TV. Another big disappointment, the TV hanging high from the ceiling was as small as a computer screen, we couldn't even see the ball.
Saggy stained sofa who saw better days.
Bathroom not equipped with hand or face towels, only 1 nearly empty bottle of low quality shower/ shampoo gel.
Shower attachment from the tape not long enough to wash our head while standing up.
Bedrooms not enough space to hang/store our clothes, only 1 pillow/person and no mattress protector.
Dunna so old there were lumps all over.
Dead insects in corners, cleaning wasn't thorough.
The main door going to the terrace didn't have a working roller blind for security as all the windows had.
Tel in cottage didn't even connect to any lines.
There was no safe either.
The domaine gates never close, any body could enter.
We stayed 4 days as a stop over, no washing machine/laundry available and no shuttles bus which we would've been happy to pay as there is no Uber services in the village, Taxi are only available if booked days ahead.
However, the lack of comfort spoiled our stay and didn't reflect the price we paid.
I suggest you go elsewhere until they get their act together in "hospitality" if they know what it means.

Nice.

A nice property, small cozy cottage, just for a 4 stars quite amazed spa area. The cabins to change without light are not practical at all, you would need a real cloakroom. Just one shower. Quite dirty glass does not allow to fully enjoy the view of the outside which is nevertheless nice from the pool. Small improvements to undertake but nice place.

Timeless Elegance and Warm Hospitality in Briare

I stayed at Domaine des Roches in the historic château (the main building) for nearly two weeks in December while visiting friends in Briare—and the experience was truly magical from beginning to end.
My room was beautiful, featuring the original Briare mosaic floors that give the hotel so much of its distinctive character and charm. I stayed on a high floor with a Juliet balcony, and the views across the château grounds were simply breathtaking—serene, elegant, and especially enchanting in the winter light.
The women at the reception desk were warm, welcoming, and exceptionally helpful. They assisted me with several requests throughout my stay, always with genuine kindness and professionalism, which made me feel completely at home. Dining in the on-site restaurant, Le Séquoia, was another highlight. Their meals are refined yet relaxed, perfectly in keeping with the atmosphere of this special place. Room service for breakfast was also delicious!
I loved my stay so much that I’ve already booked a return visit in March. Domaine des Roches is truly a gem in Briare, and I can’t wait to experience it again.
