A hidden gem in the making.....
We booked for a birthday dinner in their restaurant...initially quiet and not immediately wowed by the entrance, a little run down A formal if slightly austere environment overlit with the bright chandeliers a fake candle on the table hinted at some form of atmosphere..but sadly lacking.
But we were taken aback and surprised by the quality of food on offer. A limited menu but of good quality and with excellent presentation.. The main course could have been warmer ( we did mention this ) but all in all a very good meal with amazingly priced wines...the chateau's own was very good ( nothing over if few over 25 euros )..we will be back.
A suggestion to the very kind owners....dim the chandeliers, remove and bin the fake candles and invest in a low cost LED table lamps for each table and create the atmosphere, its a hidden gem waiting to be discovered with an excellent chef. The entrance lounge area could be more inviting, perhaps with some more sympathetic furniture rather than the huge sofas.......a great place to discover and an interesting exhibition programme to boot..

If you can participate in the winery tour
You will find it difficult to find more calm, surrounded by nature, and in the early morning you will meet deer hares in the middle of the vineyards.
Thank you to this very young team who bends over backwards for their guests and if you can participate in the tour and tasting in the castle facilities. Thank you Cédric for this great time and your professionalism.

Mr. and Mrs. Henriot, real smiling and efficient professionals have met all my expectations.
Today, June 9, 2025, the party is over, my 50 guests from all over France returned home happy, the party was very beautiful, they ate very well, slept very well, left with Floc, Armagnac and other Gers productions and have only one desire... back in Gers...
In 1963 when the leaders of the Chamber of Agriculture bought the castle to make it what it is today... they were visionary because the Château de Mons is a fantastic promotional tool for Gers tourism, for discovering agricultural productions and especially the wines of the Côtes de Gascogne.
For those who will read my opinion, the Château de Mons is a Gascon wine castle, it has very old origins, we live and work very seriously (Inrae Research Centre). He has nothing to do with Versailles!
