Bedding hygiene: The attached photos show that the mattress covers and covers are heavily stained (brown halos and various traces). Immediate visual cleanliness is not guaranteed: I noticed the presence of hair and debris under the sheets upon arrival.
Condition of equipment: Bed linen has inlaid stains (black and brownish) that suggest very advanced wear or inadequate maintenance. Pillows and mattress lack freshness and hold.
Housekeeping: The lack of cleaning extends to carpentry and nooks and crannies (soiled window rails), indicating superficial maintenance of the living space.

Good location but very steep stairs and dated decor.
It's a typical French provincial hotel which was exactly what we were looking for but the access to our rooms were up the steepest stairs that we have encountered so totally unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
The room was comfortable enough and breakfast was the usual French fayre of coffee, cheese, bread and jam.
The staff were helpful and friendly. Car parking is on the street which you have to pay for or there is a free car park about half a kilometer from the hotel which we used.
It's a good base to explore the Ardennes.

Good budget hotel but tired
Don't get me wrong, cleanliness wasn't an issue but it needs a make over and lose the carpet round the toilet!
Only other thing to be wary of is parking - it's very public, as in its road parking only. We'd expected a public car park but luckily got parked ok.
