From the Brits to the Linden!

Excellent Hotel!! Our wonderfully renovated room last year was air conditioned, soundproofed (and we were at a party) and very well equipped! All materials of very good quality! Bravo!!
Service is kind, smiling, considerate restaurant side

Inn to refresh!

The Inn is conveniently located in the city centre. We must plan to park a little further because it is difficult to find a place especially in August. The welcome is very good and the staff is very helpful. I slept in the annex not far from the Main Pension. The room is very clean but there is no air conditioning and sleeping with the window open is difficult: no passage and the church bells are well present... The bathroom is the old walk-in shower pascde. Breakfast is not buffet style, too bad because even paying more would be better. In short, a Pension to renovate despite the quality of its staff.

A relaxing September

Now that the summer holiday crowds have gone, Hasparren can be enjoyed at leisure and the Relais des Tilleuls is the best place to stay. My room was in the newer part of the Relais and had a small balcony with chairs and table facing the green and verdant landscape beyond. The furnishings were new and the room had a fresh appearance (comfortable bed and plenty of hot water also). Meals of a very high standard are taken in the restaurant in the older part of the Relais. Every effort is made to buy local produce, with a comprehensive wine list to please all tastes. I must recognise and praise the helpfulness of the staff who did everything to make my stay memorable. Where my French failed they switched to perfect English !! Their room rates and menu are realistically priced.

Good location, Good value: But the landlady was severely unpleasant towards us

Firstly, there are two "Les Tilleuls" in Hasparren - both featured in the photographs on this site. They may well be under the same management, we couldn't tell. In any event, we stayed in the "Les Tilleuls" on the corner, just across the road from the public car park in the centre of the town and which has a bar at street level and a restaurant on the first floor.
The hotel represents a good location for exploring some of the very beautiful towns, villages and scenery in the general area. Furthermore, the cost of the room represented good value for money in terms of the standard of accommodation and service received.
Unfortunately, myself and my wife will retain unpleasant memories of our stay in Les Tilleuls in Hasparren - the landlady was grossly unpleasant towards us and gave us the distinct impression that she didn't care for us as guests to any extent. Actually, she was positively rude on several occasions (in hindsight, we probably should have just left [even at a cost to ourselves] as it spoiled part of our holiday). This is sufficient to put us off ever staying in the hotel again. It is possible that language barriers were partly to blame but we speak a moderate amount of French and are always prepared to make an effort. We regularly stay in hotels around the world and can say with certainty that we have NEVER before witnessed such poor behaviour from a hotel manager or owner (or indeed a member of staff).

Séjour à l’hôtel desTilleuls Hasparren

L’hôtel est propre ,charmant avec toutes les commodités (wifi etc..), les propriétaires sont très accueillants et serviables . J’ai passé un excellent séjour , le restaurant est également excellent produits frais , cuisine savoureuse . J’y retournerai c’est sûr !
