Good value and Excellent comfort

We stayed two nights before our flight home after a week on the Ile de Re. The hotel looks newly refurbished and our room was very modern. The bedding was comfortable and the shower room excellent. It also thankfully had AC which was very important for us during the heatwave. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool and the excellent breakfast. We'd have liked to have explored la Rochelle a little more but it was very hot when we were there.

An unsafe neighbourhood

This hotel has a number of drawbacks...
On arrival, as we were about to drive into the car park, we spotted a man lying on the ground in the adjacent garden; he appeared to be drunk, and from that moment on, we didn’t feel safe in the neighbourhood.
Inside the hotel, the reception staff were excellent, and they explained everything clearly to us.
The room was nice, although there was a bit of dust, but I think that’s due to the type of concrete flooring.
As for the bar, we were also warmly welcomed by the Italian barman (Alex, if I remember correctly), who was really friendly.
We enjoyed some excellent cocktails, accompanied by a lovely platter of cold meats and cheeses, beautifully presented.
Overall, everything was fine; thank you to all the staff, but even inside the hotel, you don’t feel safe. On our return from the city centre, once we arrived at the hotel, we had a drink; there was already a bit of commotion in the lobby, and I didn’t immediately understand what was happening. When we got to our room, we discovered that on our floor, a couple were fighting, punching each other, shouting and shoving. I had to intervene to stop them, but it was to no avail, because when we went back to our room, they started shouting, slapping and hitting each other again.
Unfortunately, we didn’t feel safe in this hotel. Although the service was excellent, as was the welcome, this major negative point has put us off returning to your establishment.
I regret this, as everything else is really worth it.

Fabulous location

Great ibis ....bedroom doors close quietly unlike the one in paris' place de cliche.top swimming pool and bar with amenities close by.Town centre 10 min walk....perfect! Only drawback you have to watch when buying ice cream at the bar as the dark haired guy is a bit of a scammer and blatantly keeps your change for himself...apart from that I'd totally recommend it.

Disappointment.

Despite a friendly team, a major drawback concerns the cleanliness of the establishment. There are many cobwebs, the windows seem not to have been cleaned for several seasons, and the corners of the room deserve a thorough cleaning. The decor is also aging.
The trash cans are broken and lack hygiene bags. The sink was clogged and the toilet was very stained. In the first room assigned to us, the toilet kept running constantly.
Finally, the pool gives the impression of being located in the middle of an overgrown green space, which reinforces the overall feeling of neglect.
To be frank, given the overall condition and the lack of attention to maintenance, I strongly advise against this establishment. To be avoided.

Fine one night stay for a family

We had a nice stay here, the hotel was basic but the family room we had was clean and was fine for one night. The hotel was modern and the pool was fine. The sunbeds were close together so you had to walk right by the edge to get past but we had a short stay so it wasn’t a problem as we knew we just wanted to use the pool once and that was it. Breakfast was good - lots to pick from and restocked.
The walk to town did feel far but was about 10 mins and the station was close and so was a direct bus to the airport
