An unforgettable stay!
The Maison de Lourmarin is simply fantastic. Every detail is taken care of with great attention and taste: from the refined furnishings to the choice of colors, everything contributes to create a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The renovation was carried out impeccably, respecting the character of the place but with a touch of contemporary elegance.
A real jewel in which you can breathe harmony and beauty. Absolutely recommended

Extremely Frustrating Check-In Experience and Poor Communication
Don't book here if you don’t have a local French phone number.
Our experience at La Maison de Lourmarin began as a total nightmare. There’s no reception desk or staff on-site, which could be okay if they provided clear check-in instructions, but they didn't. To get in, you need a 4-digit entry code, but we never received it via email or text before arriving, not even on check-in day.
When we got there, we were basically locked out with no way to get in. We spent nearly three hours trying to reach the host. We called multiple times from our U.S. number, but no one picked up. We ended up racking up $20–30 in international call charges without any resolution. Thankfully, a friendly local helped by calling the property using a French number, and only then did they get the access code. But that raised another red flag where a random stranger now had the code to get into the property, which feels like a serious security issue.
And that wasn’t all. We had no idea before booking or checking in that vehicle access would be limited during our stay. So, we had to park nearly 3 kilometers away and haul all our luggage to the apartment.
To top it off, there was a loud party going on with music blasting all night—something we were never told about beforehand. The noise was so bad that we couldn't sleep.
A place that relies fully on self-check-in needs to have solid communication and clear directions. Sadly, this experience was all about poor communication, a lack of transparency, and way too much stress. I wouldn’t stay here again, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to other travelers.

Not a hotel
This is not an hotel. It is more of a dormitory. There is no reception nor any person to greet, let alone, assist you. You have to be vigilant and check you text messages or email for instructions on how to get into the building. There is no live support from the phone number posted at the entrance.
Fortunately, we were in a larger room (Room 2). I have seen reviews online criticizing some of the other rooms as being too small. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit was not functioning properly. There was no acknowledgement nor responses to the text messages sent. There no remedy provided.
As an asset, it is located in the center of the commercial area. The cafés and shops are right in front of you. However, the after-hours noise will be an annoyance if you want to sleep with the windows open.
Next time, I will opt for a local Airbnb.

Ideal location
We stayed 3 nights at this property.
Pros:
The room is tastefully decorated, it is identical to the photos.
- The magnificent view from the room on the busy street.
(Be careful, even if the window is closed, we wait for the noise but it didn't bother us).
-A bottle of wine and drinks offered.
Areas for improvement:
- Very basic breakfast at the café Le Comptoir ( 1 hot drink, 1 juice, a pastry, a choice of a baguette jam or ham).
-Bedding uncomfortable.
-We're missing shower gel, shampoo, a tissue box,...
Average price/quality ratio because we rent just one suite, there are no services offered (no reception, no parking, no swimming pool, no bar,...).
We recommend this property if you want a suite with panoramic views of the busiest street in Lourmarin.

Poor communication.
Terrible at communication. Emailed, WhatsApp'd, Texted multiple times with zero response other than an auto message that had nothing to do with the questions posed.
