Convenient base for exploring Marseille

We stayed at Ibis Marseille Centre Euroméd for two nights in November. The hotel is located 20 minutes walk from Marseielle St Charles, near les Docks Village and 10 minutes walk to Les Terrasses du Port in a quiet part of Marseille. Check-in was quick and efficient; staff handled our arrival professionally. The room was clean, functional, and comfortable for a short city stay. Bedding was excellent and the layout made good use of the space. A small minus there is not enough towel in the room only one per person. Suggestion would be great to have a face towel. The breakfast offered a excellent selection of hot and cold items, fresh pastry, cheese, orange juice, and got us out the door each morning. For a two-night stay it felt like good value given the location and level of service. Good choice for travelers who want a clean, well-located hotel with friendly service for short stays.

Basic and clean room, good bed and pillows. We had a room on the 7th floor with a window to The Docks. The window did not have any insulation, all noise could be heard inside. No English TV channels. Quite a walk to the port/ city centre. Joliette metro station quite near but you cannot reach each place with the metro for instance the beaches.

Central, clean and functional

Very well located, clean and functional: ideal for those looking for a comfortable and practical hotel and a stone's throw from the seafront and the city center. The rooms are spacious and fully equipped (quite a detail the coffee maker with capsules replenished daily and a small soap from Marseille as a gift) and the bar-restaurant located on the ground floor has good menu and better staff (they did us the favor of cooking us some delicious croque monsieurs at 11 o'clock at night, when everything was already closed; exceptional!)
It's an Ibis that's missing nothing. Very correct

Serious breach of hygiene conditions!

When I arrived in the room , I noticed unacceptable breaches of hygiene rules. In particular, I found a cigarette butt on the floor, as well as many hairs scattered in the bed, which is totally unacceptable for a room that is supposed to be prepared before a guest arrives. I would point out that I have photographic evidence of these facts.
Faced with this situation, I immediately contacted the reception in the evening. The answer I received was particularly shocking: the person present told me that there was nothing they could do for me and did not even suggest an alternative solution or a change of room.
This total lack of care is unacceptable and only exacerbates an already scandalous situation.
