A Wonderful Stay — I Can’t Wait to Return!
From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff made me feel less like a guest and more like a dear friend returning for another visit. Everyone was genuinely warm, welcoming, and eager to help, and that level of hospitality made such a difference as a solo traveler.
The location was perfect. Everything I needed was within easy walking distance — grocery stores, bakeries, wonderful restaurants, and the metro station were all nearby, making it incredibly easy to explore Paris. It was the perfect home base for my trip.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and charming. After long days of sightseeing and walking throughout the city, it was always a pleasure to come back and relax.
What truly made this hotel stand out, though, was the people. Their kindness and genuine hospitality made me feel at home in a city thousands of miles away from my own.
The only minor downside during my stay was the construction happening across the street, which created a bit of noise during the day. Since I spent most of my time out exploring Paris, it had very little impact on my experience and certainly wouldn’t keep me from staying here again.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, and I’ll gladly recommend Hôtel des Deux Avenues to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel with exceptional customer service.

A Nice Renovation Can't Make Up for Poor Service
We arrived late in the evening, hoping to get a good night's sleep after traveling. Instead, we were woken up at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday by loud construction work taking place directly outside our window. Since we were staying for five nights and came to Paris to relax, I asked the reception that same morning if we could move to another room. I was told that we could, but only if we paid extra because the quieter rooms were in a higher room category.
I explained that this didn't seem fair because there was no information about the construction on the hotel's website. The receptionist replied that we should have read previous guest reviews, where other guests had already complained about the construction. I don't think it is reasonable to expect guests to discover such important information through reviews instead of being informed by the hotel before booking.
The housekeeping service was also disappointing. During our stay, the room was cleaned, but for two consecutive days, essential items such as toilet paper, hand soap, and shower gel were not replaced. When I called reception, I was told that I could come downstairs and collect them myself. I was given less than half a roll of toilet paper and a small bar of hand soap because housekeeping had already left for the day. It never occurred to anyone to bring these basic necessities to the room, even though it was the hotel's mistake that they had not been replenished. We were fortunate to have our own shower gel, otherwise we would not have had any.
Overall, the hotel offers a convenient location and clean, renovated rooms, but the lack of customer care and unwillingness to provide even basic service made our stay much less enjoyable. A little more consideration for guests would make a significant difference.

Not recommended
The worst part for me was soon after check-in. I booked the standard room, and I went up and found the room is tiny! There is no space to even open your suitcase and keep it open. The wardrobe is similar to a 2-star motel, literally 2 shelves and some hangers. There is about 50 cm max between the bed and the walls on both sides. It is cramped!!
So I phoned reception and asked the lady if there was a slightly more spacious room available as this room is tiny. She said you booked standard, it’s great it has AC and wifi lol as if those are perks and not just standard for booking a hotel these days. She said I need to check on their website to see how much it would be to upgrade to a bigger room “Twin room”. I pushed her for the difference in price and she told me something that I can afford. I said i need to see the room before I agree to move. So, I was asked to go back down to reception and “not to touch anything in the room”. After travelling and having woken up at 3am that day, I didn’t go down right away. I waited for my daughter to use the toilet and then I got a phone call checking if I still was coming which I confirmed. When I was waiting for the lift, an elderly man came out of it, looked me in the eye and pointed to the room number and to me in his way of asking if I’m the guest if this particular room. So, I confirmed, he muttered something quickly in French, so I told him sorry please speak English. He said open the door I want to check the room to tell you if you can change. Nothing seemed friendly about this interaction, he didn’t introduce himself or anything. So I obliged, and he saw a tiny crease in the bed cover as seen on the picture and then he said you used the room, you can’t change. I told him I sat on the bed! Then he said open the toilet door and I’m not sure what exactly he could see from standing at the room door the only thing would be that the toilet seat cover was up. So he reiterated that I used the room and won’t be able to change it. However he wanted to show me a twin room. I was pretty disappointed with the “hospitality” so I told him if I can’t change it I’m not interested in seeing this other room. He just stood there and it took patience on my side not to close the door in his face. Then I called the receptionist and I got a hostile “Oui Madame” this time. And that I took “ages” before coming downstairs. (I was probably 15 minutes max - understandable after a red eye train).
The AC in the room barely works, even at temperature set to 16C, it’s more like 23C and with the sun shining all afternoon on it, it doesn’t really cool down!
On our second day, we came back to our room at 3pm. This is when the cleaner decided to rock up for room service, so we decided we can take a book and wait in the lobby. It was the weekend and the elderly man was at reception, he came and stood in front of us asking what we wanted! It just feels like a school with strict rules than a hospitable establishment. Obviously we told him and he phoned the room and talked something to the cleaner maybe to confirm or hurry up I’m not sure.
It’s also worth mentioning that the bathroom toilet doesn’t lock.
The construction across the street was mentioned in December’s reviews, so I assumed it would be finished by now.
However the construction is still ongoing, leading to noise all the time. Good luck if you’re a light sleeper!
The good thing is it’s clean, location is good close to Arc de triomphe and on a small market street full of gems of places. We especially like Liberte cafe for coffee + pastry and the Lebanese Diwan.
Ultimately, the service made us feel uncomfortable staying at the hotel and walking past reception every day.
