No AC. 33°C. Full price. No apologies or explanations ahead.

Booked through Booking.com expecting the room shown in the photos. What we got was a box with a fan on a 33-degree day, zero mention of no air conditioning at check-in, and zero action after complaining to reception twice. The staff played dumb the whole time, pretending nothing was wrong so they wouldn’t have to deal with it. When we pushed harder, the first receptionist claimed the entire hotel had no AC. That was a lie. A second receptionist later admitted it was our room only. Meanwhile, the reception desk itself was perfectly air conditioned. We paid full price for a room that wasn’t fit for the conditions, with staff who lied to our faces rather than fix the problem.
The photos are heavily edited. The rooms are small. Before you book: call ahead and confirm your room has AC. Don’t trust the listing. Don’t trust the photos. And if you need basic comfort in a Paris heatwave, look elsewhere.

I am truly sorry to hear that your stay at Hôtel Paris Louvre Opéra did not meet your expectations, and I thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
First and foremost, we fully understand your disappointment regarding the lack of air conditioning during a heat wave. We are aware of the discomfort this may have caused and sincerely regret the impact this situation had on your stay.
However, we are surprised by several statements in your review and would like to clarify a few points for the benefit of our future guests.
First of all, you had booked a Classic Room with a surface area of 11 m². This information is clearly displayed on Booking.com as well as across all of our booking channels, together with the corresponding amenities and photographs for this room category. The features of the room you selected were therefore available for review prior to your arrival, allowing each guest to choose the accommodation that best suits their expectations.
We would also like to clarify that the photographs displayed accurately reflect the different room categories offered and have not been altered in any way to misrepresent the actual size of the rooms or the facilities available.
Regarding the air conditioning, the inconvenience you experienced during your stay was unfortunately caused by an unexpected technical failure that affected five rooms in our hotel, as well as the reception area. Contrary to what was mentioned in your review, this issue was therefore not limited to your room alone.
As soon as the malfunction was detected, our teams immediately contacted our maintenance provider so that repairs could be carried out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, due to the exceptionally high temperatures experienced in Paris during that period, specialized maintenance companies were in extremely high demand and were unable to intervene on the same day. We sincerely apologize for this situation.
Our front desk team was also awaiting the technicians’ assessment and intervention. The information provided throughout your stay was therefore always given in good faith and based on the information available to us at the time. At no point did our teams seek to mislead you or downplay the situation. On the contrary, they did their utmost to assist all affected guests despite this technical incident, which was entirely beyond our control.
Furthermore, I personally took the time to speak with you upon your departure to explain, in complete transparency, the cause of the malfunction and the steps being taken to resolve it. Recognizing the inconvenience caused, I also informed you that a goodwill gesture would be extended. This was processed the following day, and you were kept informed accordingly.
When it was not possible to relocate guests to rooms with fully functioning air conditioning due to the hotel being fully booked, all guests affected by the malfunction received compensation. While this cannot fully offset the discomfort experienced, we felt it was important to acknowledge the impact of this exceptional situation and take responsibility accordingly.
We are also sorry to read that you felt our staff were not attentive to your concerns. The feedback we receive on a daily basis generally highlights their professionalism, availability, and commitment to finding solutions for our guests. We therefore sincerely regret that your perception of our service differed from the experience most of our guests describe.

The staff was wonderful, gave us great restaurant recommendations and were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice with many choices. The hotel location is convenient to public transportation and walkable to many good restaurants. Negatives: The AC did not work for the first two nights of our stay and there was a lot of street noise when we opened a window for some fresh air. Rooms are small but the bed was comfortable.

Outdated hotel. Tiny rooms. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything. Very noisy. The AC didn’t work. Don’t stay here.

Room were clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the evening crowds as well as feeling safe. The popular attraction were all near by once we learned how to use the metro system….
