an excellent time
everything was perfect, the welcome, the beautiful place, the excellent meal at the gourmet restaurant, with a special mention for desserts. the room was comfortable with contemporary decoration well integrated into the site.

We did not like this hotel and do not recommend it
We did not like this hotel. Our ratings:

When we, arrived we were allowed to check in, even though it was before 16:00 (without an extra charge). That was a positive. Mme was perfunctory, not friendly or warm. We had help from the friendly Indian and the Nepali getting all of our luggage to the room—up the 1 ½ flights of stairs. There was only one luggage rack, we needed more. A young man (who turned out to be Chef’s and Mme’s son) came to the room and angrily said “one luggage rack per room”, notwithstanding that there were two people in the room with suitcases.
The air conditioning in Suite #1 worked; that was a positive. There was an automatic light that went on in the entry hall where door to only toilet was located. Every time we went to the toilet that light went on and off (every 10 seconds or so). From that hall there was a very, very heavy door to the bedroom that slammed shut. So, when we went to the bathroom at night, the hall light went on and off and on and off. If we weren’t really careful (or if we didn’t prop the door open), that door slammed with a bang. Between the door slamming and the light going on and off, sleep was difficult when someone went to the toilet at night (which we do often). We were charged 200€ for a flimsy table that collapsed when Audre stood on it to try to reach and cover the automatic light sensor. Fortunately no part of Audre’s body broke when she fell.
The room itself was quiet enough in spite of the noisy floor boards.
Mme found us electric bikes to rent nearby. That was a positive. Other than that, our guest experience was bad. We had asked for certain things to be done to personalize our room. Nothing at all was done. When we arrived, Audre re-made the made, removing the comforter (which is too hot for us), and so on. We were made to feel like what we asked for was excessive: as if we were pains in the neck and it felt terrible.
There was no mini refrigerator in the suite. Audre asked Mme if she could put some food in the hotel’s frig. Mme said yes. At dinner on our first night, Audre could not eat all of the (delicious—a positive) food. She carries plastic containers for this contingency and she put food in her containers. She asked the server to add the containers to the food of hers already in the frig. The next morning when Audre asked Chef if she could have her containers for our picnic, he said he threw them out. Audre lost it; those containers were the perfect sized plastic and they had been very difficult to find (and also had our lunch in them). If he didn’t want her food in the frig, why didn’t he have his staff throw the food out and wash her containers? He disrespected her property which violates Rule Number One for a hotelier. He never explained or said anything conciliatory. Later a housekeeper came to our door with some flimsy, oddly-sized plastic containers.
After the entry hall and the heavy door that slammed shut, came the bedroom. It was large enough: there was room for two barrel chairs and a low table which we placed in the middle of the room, in front of the TV (there were good streaming selections—a positive). There was a table/desk, long enough for the two of us to sit at our laptops. There were two bedside tables. And there was another table with the Nespresso machine and 2 regular coffee pods (no decaf and no extra coffee pods permitted without an extra charge).
From the bedroom was a door to the dressing room. It had a sofa bed, at an angle and 2 closets. The sofa bed was at an awkward angle. The door to the dressing room didn’t close well. Because there were no drapes on the windows in the dressing room, the light from that room invaded the bedroom.
Then there was the un-airconditioned bathroom with a small, square shower. There were two sinks (that was a positive) and a window.
The view from the bedroom was lovely and the wi fi worked well (both positives). The floor covering in the bedroom was scratchy and unpleasant to walk on barefoot. The lighting in the room had screwy features. For example, if the light in the toilet room was on, the light in the bedroom over the coffee maker, would not work.
We had trouble because the toilet was too high for us (we are small). We didn’t use the pool or the spa (there was an 85€ charge for a limited time use of the Jacuzzi).
The breakfast at 24€ each was pretty bad. There was a buffet with normal items (including cold cereal, cold hard-boiled eggs, 2 cheeses, smoked trout and a cured meat). The only hot eggs available were an extra charge. Each morning, we had orange juice, 8 slices of orange, yogurt or some kind of sweet, cream thing, baguette, awful cold pancakes, awful taco or sandwich and homemade pastries. There were some plums on the buffet but the breakfast did not have enough fruit for us and we didn’t like it.

Overrated hotel that does not offer all the services advertised on their website.
Reception needs significant improvement, rooms are poorly lit.

Bad experience for a pilgrimage.
The establishment incorrectly claims to be part of Teritoria. Some services are missing. Inadequate pricing. Lack of staff. Insulting and discriminatory behavior. A shocking lack of empathy.

Charming Mood and great cuisine
I stayed here two nights and enjoyed a dinner. The Mood is what you imagine when you hear someone turn an ancient, listed monastery into a hotel. A wonderful mix of creaky old wooden doors and very modern installations, garnished with a large comfortable bed. Anyone who reads the many negative English-language reviews should know that one can confidently call the landlady ‘resolute’. I live in Berlin and can bounce that off me, our Anglo-Saxon cousins are offended considerably faster. It is also correct that a fellow passenger with a serious lactose intollerenaz had to skip various courses because this was not taken into account despite prior announcement. Perhaps it was because she did not actually touch the food that her problem was taken seriously and taken into account after a while. I'm not affected by this, but I would suggest skipping the restaurant if you have serious allergies or intolerances. Apart from that, the Quality of food is outstanding, the creativity of the chef remarkable and the implementation skillful. The house belongs to the local winegrowers' cooperative, which accordingly dominates the wine list. This is pleasant because firstly Plaimont is one of the best cooperatives in the world and secondly there are aged wines from their treasury here. The wine accompaniment was excellent. The croissants, baguettes, pain au chocolat etc. produced in-house are irresistible. I didn't have time for the pool.
