What a fabulous place!

La Moulin Cocusotte, tucked into a bend in the river Dropt and surrounded by its own extensive gardens, delivered all we had hoped for, and more. Pots brimming with blooms, tall willows shading the riverbanks, other trees in flower or heavy with fruit, pathways, ponds, numerous places to sit, the restored mill building itself, with massive wheel and, best of all if arriving on a hot summer’s afternoon, a large pool right on the doorstep of the spacious and private b&b apartment. We felt immediately at home. A fine breakfast was served beside the river, and we were also able to use this area for an evening picnic. The b&b accommodation has 2 double beds, several sofas, a fridge, and views to the river/weir and millstream. Steps from the front door lead down to the pool. Fresh produce and homemade jams are available to buy, as well as brocante items. Welcoming and gracious hosts.

confirmed booking, but no one there

We arrived to the B&B which is located in a scenic and lovely part of the countryside (please note though that google maps does not give the correct location, it is about another 1 km away).
Unfortunately though, even though we had a confirmed booking the owner was away. We arrived at 530pm, had a chat to one of his friends that was just by luck on his property and left after 15 minutes when he could not be reached on his mobile phone and the room had not been made up.
Based on what we saw, it could have been a nice stay. What we couldn't believe though is that around an hour later we received an email telling us that the room was now ready and if we didn't go back we would be charged a cancellation fee. After having to argue for more than 30 minutes the cancellation fee was waved.
Our advice is that if you get a confirmation ensure you ring up and ensure the owner will be there and not in Bordeaux.

Belle visite

Très intéressante visite commentée proposée par le propriétaire des lieux, très complète et enrichissante. Beau parcours dans un environnement très agréable à admirer, avec de belles fleurs, en profitant par exemple de la possibilité de pique-niquer. Moulin très bien entretenu avec une belle roue en bon état de marche.

Superbe

Nous avons passé une soirée dans cette chambre d’hôte sur la route de retour de nos vacances. Nous avons été ravis par la beauté du lieu mais surtout par l’accueil qui nous a été réservé. Jacques a su nous mettre à l’aise et à vraiment été aux petits soins pour nous. Nous avions décidé de dîner sur place, n’ayant pas envie de reprendre la voiture pour trouver un restaurant. Bien nous en a pris car nous avons pu déguster les produits du jardin, cuisine simple, sans chichis mais savoureuse. Le petit déjeuner a été à la hauteur du dîner. Quant à la chambre, elle est immense avec un salon et deux lits, une salle de bain complète, baignoire et douche. La literie est d’excellente qualité..Autre avantage de cette chambre d’hote une piscine qui nous a permis de nous délasser de notre voyage routier. Nous recommandons sans aucune réserve cet endroit magnifique où les hôtes ont su nous accueillir avec convivialité.

Un lieu magique pour se reposer

Nous avons passé une nuit dans la chambre d'hôtes du moulin. Déjà le lieu est magique au bord de la rivière, avec la roue du moulin et un jardin enchanteur. Ensuite l'accueil de la part de Dominique est très chaleureux et il est toujours prêt à rendre service. Enfin la chambre d’hôtes est spacieuse avec une literie très confortable et le petit déjeuner est juste exceptionnel avec des fruits frais du jardin et des gourmandises faites maison. Encore merci Dominique et un câlin à Colin !
