Great discovery
An excellent stay at this hotel, admittedly old-fashioned, but very clean. The park is beautiful, the pool is superb, clean, and cool. Quiet. The owner is full of mischievous humor and his wife is very helpful. Furthermore, the owner knows everything about the region and gives excellent advice. Unfortunately, we had to shorten our stay by one night due to a car breakdown; the owner very kindly waived the charge for that night! Thanks again. And of course, the region is magnificent!!!

ROOM REFUSED FOR LATE ARRIVAL (ADVERTISED)
I see that unfortunately other customers had the same problem.
After booking and paying online on the booking platform announcing my arrival by 7pm, following a setback I leave a message on the phone of Mr Lenestour, owner of the hotel.
Arrived at the hotel I ask if possible for dinner and very unpleasantly the employee tells me that it is not possible.
At that point the owner sitting at a table without even showing up asks me if I have booked and then tells me that he refuses to give the room.
Indecent.
I reported made me to Booking.
After booking and paying online on the booking platform announcing my arrival by 7pm, following a setback I leave a message on the phone of Mr Lenestour, owner of the hotel.
Arrived at the hotel I ask if possible for dinner and very unpleasantly the employee tells me that it is not possible.
At that point the owner sitting at a table without even showing up asks me if I have booked and then tells me that he refuses to give the room.

A SHAME!
As my review is regularly deleted, and my experience at this establishment is absolutely scandalous, I try again here
My spouse and I (then 5 months pregnant) arrived in the middle of August, during 2020 (#COVID) and because I arrived after 7pm (and drove for 4h, my companion not having the permit), I was refused and invited to leave the premises by the boss. The latter, however, took care, as soon as he saw me, to quickly cash from his computer, the 3 NIGHTS I had booked!!!
I knew the busy time and given the late hour, I feared I would have to sleep in my car but he didn't want to hear anything, I had to manage to call all the hotels in the city and finally find one who, in front of our situation, agreed to accommodate us in an attic, normally closed during the summer period.
Finally, I say that we were in the middle of a pandemic but that no hygiene measures were in force at the park hotel (no hydroalcoholic solution, no mask or distancing) and icing on the cake, when I disputed that the manager takes my money for 3 NIGHTS, I was insulted: "That's because you're making me ch..." he told me.
I think these facts speak for themselves!

What a beautiful place, no stress and everything down to earth.
We visited Dominique early September 2016 and what a pleasant surprise.
I was on the verge on leaving the place when we first entered the lobby, the smell of old and humid house was not very attractive.
But then we found Dominique and 'Fondant Arret' (the dog), and we were sold.
Dominique is truly pleasant and down to earth and has at lot of humor.
And he is a very good cook although he is not willing to admit and is always helpful in all aspects.
Actually there is no smell in the room which was always clean - and the view to the river and the bridge is breathtaking.
We stayed 3 days instead of 1 and will be back to enjoy the beautiful setting under the marble trees when having the 4 course meal in the evening. Very romantic.

Treated like family
Hotel du Parc will always hold a special place in our hearts. The Perigord Noir is a magical place to begin with and this hotel seems to fit perfectly within it's environment...belonging to another time, along the bank of the gentle Vezere, in the shadow of a lovely grove of trees, near all the popular sites. The owner greeted us warmly and from our very first evening on the property, treated us like a member of his own family. Meals are served outside during nice weather or inside the well-kept dining room of a nicely-restored farm house. Dinner is simple and satisfying, highlighting the local specialties. Nothing about the property is fancy and it shouldn't be. Rooms are simple but tidy. If you want modern luxuries, stay elsewhere. Here, the service received is far greater than the price of the rooms and the calm you feel during your stay is worth triple the price.
