Place was great. If good coffee and good cocktails is something important to you, bring your own coffee, and explain in detail how you like your drinks as compared to just ordering what’s in the menu.
Great place! Staff was great. Atmosphere was great.

Amazing food
The food, ambiance and service were amazing , Tea our server made everything special, so nice, attentive and friendly we would definitely recommend this place and specially the server!

This is a wonderful resort property and highly recommend. Superior staff and accommodations. Only complaint—-the elevator broke and we were stuck inside for about 15 minutes. Other than that, we had a marvelous stay.

Somewhat Disappointing This Time
My daughter and I just completed our 4th stay in 4 years at Hilton Hotel Tahiti. Before this most recent stay, I have always written very positive reviews and just couldn’t understand the negative ones I read.
This time we were considerably less satisfied and are better able to understand the negative reviews sometimes posted.
The grounds are still lovely; the rooms are still very clean and comfortable; and individuals with whom we interacted were friendly, courteous, and professional.
HOWEVER:
First of all, we were not welcomed back either as previous guests or as Hilton Honors members. To make things worse, at check-in and throughout our stay, we observed others being welcomed with shell or flower leis as we had been on previous visits but not this one.
When we checked in at around 10 AM, we were told that our room was not ready, which we expected, as official check in is at 3:00. However, we were told that we would be contacted as soon as the room was ready. We were never contacted; so at 2 P.M., I went to the desk to inquire about the room and the woman with whom I spoke indicated that we already had our keys. When I said that we had never been contacted as promised and had not been given any keys, the woman turned around and picked up our keys from a row of keys. We definitely suspected that the room had been ready for some time but that no one bothered to call/text us at the number we had given at check in.
Our reservation confirmation clearly acknowledged that I had a severe allergy to feathers and had to have hypoallergenic pillows. When we decided to take a nap, I started to have an asthmatic reaction within a short time. We removed several layers of pillowcases and discovered that the pillows were made of deck feathers.
When we first arrived at our room, our luggage was not there and we had called and asked to have it delivered. We waited for just over an hour and went to the front desk to retrieve it ourselves, as we needed items. We were told that it was being delivered at that time.
That evening we got on the elevator with 3 other people and got stuck inside for several minutes when the elevator wouldn’t move or open. After a couple of minutes, it opened about 1 1/2 inches but was stuck there. It was a frightening few minutes. We reported the problem from inside the elevator and again at the front desk as we left. Upon returning several hours later, there was no sign on the elevator, so I summoned it. When it arrived, the same thing happened…It only opened a little bit! This time, we were on the OUTSIDE, thank God!
Our air conditioning was not working properly, and a green button kept changing to red to indicate that. We had to call 3 times about that issue. The gentleman who responded was extremely nice and apologetic and fixed it temporarily but couldn’t fully resolve the issue until he could access the room above us the following day.
One morning we purchased coffee and breakfast items and went to the outdoor terrace, our favorite spot, to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The only spot available was a loveseat and 2 chairs. However, the coffee table had a Reserved sign on it….something we had NEVER seen…on ANY of our visits. I went back to the bar from which we had purchased the breakfast items to inquire and was told that the seating was, in fact, reserved. We stood and waited until someone else left and we could sit and eat. This area is not part of a restaurant; it is a relaxation area. We noticed that no one ever came to sit at the Reserved seating area because of the sign on the table and we spoke to the front desk about it. The man checked and told me that that seating is reserved for 7 or more people. How 7 people could fit on a 2-person loveseat and 2 individual chairs is beyond us! No one ever sat there for the rest of the day or evening as far as we could tell! Just wasted space all day! We spent much of the day on that terrace because of the rain. The next morning the sign was gone, and we never saw it again.
The morning we checked out and with the privacy sign on the door, we were awakened very early by knocking at our door. When my daughter went to answer the door, the cleaning person apologetically told her that he had been told that we had checked out. Later that morning, we attempted to purchase coffee and pastries for breakfast and were not allowed to charge the items to our room because it showed that we had checked out. When I eventually did go to check out, I told the worker about our experiences. She looked into it and said that they had information that we had checked out at 5 AM. Where that information came from, I have no idea, because we were sound asleep at 5 A.M. and had never discussed checking out with anyone!
None of these things is earth shattering in itself and might be tolerated at a $200- a-night hotel. However, at approximately $600 a night, customers are justified in expecting far better!!!

A FABULOUS Experience!
Dinner at Taitea, the French Polynesian restaurant at Tahiti Hilton, was fabulous! The food was great (I wholeheartedly recommend the Poulet Faha) but the real stars were the staff; service was beyond exceptional. Led by Tea, the entire staff went above and beyond to ensure our dinner was the best possible experience. I really cannot say enough nice things!
