Unique and fascinating venue, a home stay in the past

Our host Johan made us incredibly welcome and served excellent home cooked meals. We had the bridal suite which is the largest room. The whole house is full of early 20th century furniture, objects, paintings and photos, all related to the family. Meals are served on period china with period cutlery and drinks in period glasses. The house has a small vegetable garden used to good effect. We slept really well and the bed was comfortable. A short drive from the ferry port and a good base to explore Suderoy.

It’s a scam, expensive room in a haunted house

The house is old and looks like a museum, quite interesting to see, but a lot of dishes were not so clean and inside was quite cold.
For dinner , there wa a 3 courses meal: we got some pea soup, lamb with some boiled potatoes and boiled vegetables and for dessert there was some rhubarb jam with cream.
The food was very very basic, less taste , and unfortunately we also found some hair in the soup.
We booked a double room for one night but the heating was not working so they gave us a super small room.
One thing to mention is that the bathroom is shared. This detail was not mentioned on their website.
One thing they also mentioned at dinner is that the house is haunted.
Think twice before booking a room.

Best option for Suduroy

Our stay at this beautiful guest house was very special. It is unique and like a living museum but you feel Faroese staying there! The hosts are wonderful,the food fantastic and it is so easy to get to from the ferry- as is everything on the Faroes.
Our hike with Gudrun on Sunday morning was a classic in fog, so steep, brunch she carried in a basket for 4 hrs, despite my husband’s insistence he put it in his backpack, but memorable! Even the shared bathroom, which I was not an initial fan of, was not a problem! We loved! 2 nights was perfect!
