For dreaming and relaxing.

If you are looking for relaxation, this garden is the perfect place for you. A beautiful, quiet lodge with attentive service and great food, whether it's local cuisine or classics like pizza and burgers. All of the spacious rooms - the bed has a mosquito net, by the way - have a view of Lake Kivu. A dream!

2* says it all

We arrived here with initially 2 nights reserved. The welcome was hardly existing. Until now we were welcomed in every lodge with warm or hot towels, a juicy drink, suitcase service and a briefing. Nothing of that here. Our driver even needed to take a suitcase out of the car. We ordered 1 beer in the room, they brought 2. Diner was horrible. In my spaghetti they threw a hole bottle of chili sauce it seemed, which made it uneatable, and the wrap was mediocre. All this made us decide to ask our driver to arrange another place for the second night, which luckily succeeded. Breakfast was good.

Lake side views

Lovely property on the lake with gardens
Employees were very helpful and always available for any requests
Breakfast was delicious
Recommend a room on the bottom floor as has a lovely garden in front of balcony
We ordered dinner while down at the lake and we’re called up to the restaurant when ready, food was a bit too salty but other than that all great

Gorgeous location

The setting of this hotel is really beautiful. Lovely gardens and great views of Lake Kivu. We spent a very peaceful couple of nights here and service was very good. We stayed in the bungalow, which is a real gem of a room. The food was simple but enjoyable (and came on time when pre-ordered).

Fabulous location - ideal hotel for a Hercule Poirot film setting. Highly recommended

The hotel is very close to Gisenyi (a short taxi ride away), it has a stunning garden, and incredible views overlooking Lake Kivu.
The rooms are superb, and the intricate wood carving on the doors, and their surround, is indicative of incredible skill and craftmanship. Each room has a balcony overlooking the garden and Lake Kivu.
The staff were very friendly, and could not do enough to help us. The food in the restaurant was delicious, whilst taking in the views again over Lake Kivu too.
We went into Gisenyi, and popped into one of the cocktail bars on the shoreline. Instead of getting a road taxi back, we took the boat back across Lake Kivu to the hotel, via the methane plant along the DRC border. You have to try this.
We also took the opportunity to visit a local community coffee plantation which is nearby by taxi. Had a talk on the growing of coffee, saw the coffee beans being dehusked by hand, then roasted in front of us by hand, pounded manually into coffee powder, then followed by a delicious coffee being served. What an experience, and well worth a visit.
A must visit, must stay hotel in our view.
