Perfect.
Here and there are negative reviews of this hotel and one wonders why, at least compared to the experience we had for 3 days.
The place is idyllic well located on the edge of the delta, we were lucky to have a bungalow that had a view of this mangrove.
The staff is charming but also very professional.
The food is excellent (dinner and breakfast) with a special mention for the pastry chef, you can also drink good wine at reasonable prices.
The organization of excursions is impeccable.
In short everything is perfect! No doubt we were lucky enough to be in this hotel when there were not many people and the exceptional nature of the situation made our experience all the more fun.

Just OK but expensive
We have been staying in this hotel during a circuit in Senegal. Claim to be a high-standard boutique hotel; however, facts are slightly different. Room prices are excessive for the quality offered (small chalets, dirty or worn-out equipment).
Lunch and dinner are good but again excessive, a main course being offered at 20000 francs.
Unfortunately, no other high-standard option is offered in the area, which might explain partly the discrepancy between price and quality.

To flee unless you want to be the pigeon
Big disappointment. I stayed with my family (6 pers) from 30 Dec and 01 January. For comparison, I had already stayed as a couple the year before when I had a fabulous stay. Today, it is not the same experience at all. The setting of the hotel and the location are beautiful. The Delta view rooms and suites in the baobab are very bright with beautiful views. But the more you are and in triple or family room and the further you are parked, without view. For 3 adults and 3 children, we had a triple room and a double room at 360€ and 280€ per night. The rooms are very dark. The windows overlook the path to the rooms. You either open the curtains and everyone passing by sees your privacy, or you turn on the lights but the lighting is too dim. Apart from towels, water, air conditioning and TV, no other equipment. No outlets in the bathroom, no bathrobe, no hair dryer, no coffee machine and no phone to call the front desk. The quality of the room does not justify the price at all.
In terms of activities, the Communications Officer is at the end of her life. Before our arrival, I wanted to book the nest. I had to ask several times for information by e-mail without having a reply. Finally after yet another boost, she announces that the nest is already booked but that if there is a withdrawal, she will not fail to warn us. Finally the day of our arrival around 4pm, by talking with her, we learn that the nest is available because someone has cancelled but that you have to book in advance and that there it is too late to rearrange something for the evening because the departure is at 5pm. She would have informed us at the time of the withdrawal, we would have had plenty of time to organize. Some guests had the list of excursions printed and others (like us), nothing, except vague oral explanations. In short: total incompetence.
Let us now talk about the meal: prices are abusive. The super chef we knew last year and who had regaled us is gone. The new card and the new leader are not up to it. Full board at 60,000 XOF. Excluding board, the buffet is charged at 35,000 XOF per person. Even more expensive than the buffets of the best hotels in Dakar, but without choice and quality. At lunch, à la carte, starter at 7,500 XOF, same for desserts and dish at 15,000 XOF, even the tomato pasta dish.
The icing on the cake was the evening of Dec. 31. When booking, an extra charge of €204/adult and €106/child was announced to me. Additional that I accepted. When we arrived I asked the entertainment manager several times about the program and she was unable to answer me. On D-Day, she informed us that there will be an aperitif at 7pm, dinner at around 8.30pm, and surprises. But still no more details. We arrive at about 8:00. The tables are decorated, a local music group is set up and we are given the menu card. A little festive but not exceptional. 2 starters, 2 courses, 2 desserts. But in fact it’s a choice. So you are entitled to 1 starter + 1 main course + 1 dessert. Even with music and fireworks, it doesn’t justify awards of this kind. We decided to cancel the dinner and go for New Year’s Eve at the hotel next door which offered a very good festive menu for 35,000 XOF.
Last point, we were doing this stay as part of a wedding anniversary. I specified it at the booking, and our arrival and during the stay. No special attention from the hotel.
This is a shame because the hotel has a great potential but the quality and service do not follow. I have no problem paying the price when justified, but here the customer is the service pigeon. Run away.

I’m greatly moved by the ecological mission and remote setting of this hotel, however one must really be close to nature to truly enjoy. I also believe the activities I partook in and food was overpriced.
