Four night stay at Ella Hide View

My husband and I stayed at Ella Hide View as part of our honeymoon trip to Sri Lanka for four nights.
The rooms were so comfortable, clean, and the view from the hotel rooms and also the dining area is just beautiful!
The daily breakfast was great too - different Sri Lankan dish every morning with choice of eggs, fresh fruit (and also freshly made juice of your choice) with tea and coffee.
The staff was were so kind and helpful, arranging Tuk Tuks, trips to nearby Diyuma Falls, and a massage for us.
The location was great too, a short walk along the railway line into the centre of Ella Town.
Thank you highly recommend!

Awful

Horrible. Located in a very indecent neighborhood. Extremely loud irritable sounds throughout the night, till morning. The staff was misleading the guests about this noice , saying it is going to be over soon. And the guests were not informed about this. No proper access to the place, nor safe parking. Charges were much higher, than it is appearing in the sites. Not worth at all.

Very disappointing. Over priced

I read the reviews on Booking.com before calling to book this hotel. I think they must have stayed in a different hotel!! First the positives: lovely staff, really helpful. great view. Fab breakfast. Negatives: room smelt for 2 reasons. Bedding hasn’t been dried properly so smells rancid and is stained. Bathroom smelt of urine. Windows dirty. Extensive renovations going on so very noisy.Literally a whole floor under our room. Building site. Hotel being built next door. Noise insulation non existent. We had a French couple with two small children also staying in our room who woke us at 6am every morning. We chose to be out of town to be more peaceful. What a joke. I feel the management/owner need to up their game as I felt sorry for the staff who tried very hard. Maybe it’s time to take down the. Christmas Tree too. We totally overpaid. Then tried to add 3% for wanting to use a card. I would feel guilty that I am spoiling someone’s holiday.

Avoid at All Costs – Worst Hotel Experience Ever

I stayed at Hide View Ella, and unfortunately it was a very bad experience. The reality of this hotel does not match the photos or description at all.
The room was in poor condition, with a strong smell of dampness and humidity everywhere. Cleanliness was very poor, and there were insects in the room, which made the stay very uncomfortable. There were also serious problems with hot water, which was either not working or very inconsistent.
On top of that, the price is very high for what is offered. The hotel is extremely overpriced and not worth the money at all compared to other places in Ella.
Overall, the hotel feels neglected and poorly maintained.
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I would definitely not stay here again.

A magical hotel lost in nature

This hotel is just amazing. It's a haven of peace. The staff is amazingly kind, the service is perfect. The view is beautiful, indescribably beautiful, there reigns an atmosphere of particular serenity that I will remember. This is really one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen.
