Wonderful Staff Delicious Food
We discovered the Coral Sands Hotel while looking for a place to stay in the Galle district. It turned out to be a wonderful and refreshing experience for us. If you are considering a visit, you definitely should go; it promises a delightful experience.
Location
As for the location of the Coral Sands Hotel, it is situated near the town of Hikkaduwa in the Galle District. The beautiful view of the sea from one side of the hotel will undoubtedly transport you to another world, and the stunning Hikkaduwa beach is sure to leave a lasting impression on your memory. Also, if you wish to go coral reef viewing, that facility is available in the sea right in front of the hotel.
Hotel
This is a pleasant, well-sized hotel. Facilities provided for guests include two swimming pools, a bar, a café, a gym, and a mini English library. This hotel is located by the roadside, with a Pizza Hut and a Spa Ceylon situated at the front. They also have rooms equipped with Jacuzzis, and you can choose a room according to your needs. The beautiful view of the sea from one side of the hotel will undoubtedly transport you to another world, and the stunning Hikkaduwa beach is sure to leave a lasting impression on your memory.
Swimming Pool
Regarding their swimming pools, there are two main pools, and a separate, smaller pool has been set up for children. The most important and impressive aspect of this place is that it is maintained in a very clean condition.
Room
As for the rooms, while they were not particularly large, they were presented in a very clean and tidy manner. An electric kettle was provided for making tea or coffee, along with the necessary supplies—tea, coffee, and milk powder—in small sachets. We were provided with a TV and a mini-fridge, but what really caught our eye was their canopy bed, enclosed by netting.
Restaurant and Food
They had a clean restaurant with ample seating capacity, and we received efficient service there. When it came to the food, they were dedicated to presenting it to us beautifully and at a very high standard of quality. All three main meals we had were set menus; however, They provide buffet service when there are enough guests. All the food and beverages we received were delicious and of high quality, and the beautiful presentation further enhanced our dining experience. They took steps to maintain the distinctive, superior flavor of each individual dish.
Service
Among the important points worth mentioning, we place the friendly service we received at the very top. The friendly smiles and respectful attitude shown by everyone made our journey truly smooth and comfortable. Everyone we met there—from their security officer onwards—was efficient, kind, and friendly. We wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Sanjaya and Ishara for the support they provided from the very beginning of our interaction. We also cannot overlook the friendly service we received from staff members Ashika , Karu and Malinga. We also appreciate the friendly and warm service provided by Mr. Chaminda—whom we met during dinner—as well as the service provided by Oshantha, who worked alongside him. We also wish to acknowledge the friendly service provided by Dishan and Sanjana, who attended to our breakfast and lunch needs the day after our arrival, as well as the service provided by Mr. Prashan. We extend our special thanks and appreciation to mr. Prashan for the warm, friendly, and prompt service they offered us. In addition to these names, we extend our gratitude to everyone we met during our stay.
Other
We visited this hotel to celebrate one of our birthdays; when we informed them of the occasion, they placed a lovely, delicious cake in the room and beautifully decorated the bed. Furthermore, the hotel room we had booked was upgraded to a superior deluxe room at no extra cost.

Wonderful place - great hotel
Relaxed in this wonderful hotel in late January and early February 2026. Great service, rooms washed every day, towels changed, bed. Feeding is very delicious, dishes are varied, lots of sweet for tea, coffee, fruit - buffet.
All staff are sympathetic, friendly.
Very convenient location of the hotel, on one side - street, almost downtown Hikudawa, on the other side - ocean. The ocean can be observed from the bed from the room, spreading the curtains, from the balcony, from the pool (there are 2 in the hotel).
Near the ocean is a great beach: you go right - you can go to the fish, you can swim with them, feed; you go left - you will come to sea turtles, moor, sea urchins.

Recommend a great department
Nice, clean department! Rooms are cleaned every day, towels and linen were changed, the view from the room to the ocean and no matter how much the tray disturbed there was no noise or smell. Breakfasts are modest, but you won't be hungry. The staff is responsive and attentive. Shampoo, gel, soap and lotion were all there, no toothbrush, but that's okay. The most important thing is that this department is in a very convenient location, nearby come turtles, a coral reef where you can see fish with masks, turtle farms (of course, but you can see,), a museum dedicated to the tsunami of 2004 and a statue of Buda, a bus station, and coffee where to dine nearby.

All beauty, no service
Beautiful hotel but horrible service.
The room was very congested. I asked for a plate to feed my 3yearold daughter,they demanded extra money. They gave a bedsheet instead of a blanket. So many other small things missing too.
Looks good outside, but zero care for guests. Never again.

Excellent stay
Very well placed hotel, by the sea, attentive staff, great kindness, The staff struggles to please you. The buffet is perfect, as well as breakfast. Certainly the bathrooms are to be renovated, but very correct. Large clean room, with safe. 24-hour reception. Pool quite large and clean. We return there every time we are in Hikkaduwa. Recommended +++
