For 3* hotels - it's a solid 5 stars!
The hotel is great, made most of our vacation. We rested for 10 days.
Every day it was nice to go back there - the location is good (minutes 5-7 to the nearest beach), the hotel (and pool) is clean and modern, with sympathetic smiling staff (trying very hard, thank them). The view from the balcony is atmospheric (downstairs swimming pool, palm trees, in the evening lights on the trees and large wings fly - don't worry, they only eat mangoes from these trees) - you can sit on your own, there is a table and chairs.
Yes, there were some minor downsides that I noticed on the first day of arrival, then I didn't care at all - stains on furniture, most likely from spilled liquid, one drawer not closing tightly - a consequence of the high humidity. The furniture itself is nice, the interior is decent. A very comfortable bed.
Cleaning is done with quality on request - feel free to ask the staff (card asking for cleaning on the door may not work). On request, fresh towels are provided in the room and beach towels for sunbeds on the property.
Showers worked great, hot water was always there. Shower without hose, American version. Sometimes I wanted to take the hose off and rinse the shower floor with it.
There are ropes on the balcony to dry the laundry.
We did our laundry on request. Thanks for that. Be sure to speak the mode so that the staff understand. Make sure of that. Without that, the second time we were apparently washed on hot cotton mode - some appliqués went off the jersey. If there's anything difficult to do, go to the dry cleaners. We gave it to a private house, did a great job of laundry.
Hairdryer was not in the room at check-in - they asked - we were given no problem. Also asked for an adapter for the European fork - dali. They asked for a brewing kettle to make tea (bought a local one in the store) - also gave away.
We had breakfast and lunch included. They're very full, delicious! There is a variety - English and Sri Lankan breakfasts, inside which there are also options (omelette/scramble/boiled egg/glaze and fish/chicken curry, tortillas/rice). More options for dinner - I'll attach a menu. Depending on the chef, the serving may vary, the portions a little more or less, but you certainly won't stay hungry. The girls in the restaurant are really nice, loved them. In addition to breakfast, dinners were ordered a la carte. Meals recommended! My favorites were Sri Lankan breakfast with phish curry (tuna) and rice, for dinner Greek salad, pickled chicken breast with vegetables and banana fritters (deep-fried bananas)! My husband often ate seafood rice, fish and chips, ice cream.
They also served delicious fruit - fresh pineapple so sweet it's like in syrup and super fragrant papaya. My husband likes local mini bananas. They bought many times and at the market home (by the way, the market is not far away - fruit and fish, fish are cooked there - they took, very good).

Great place to enjoy Hikka!
Super location, The Galle-Colombo road which is the main road for busses is a 5 min walk away, The train station is only a 2 min walk. The beach is within 10 min walk.
The rooms and toilets were clean and in good condition. Beds had clean new sheets and towels provided were always clean including pool towels.
The staff were always pleasant and helpful.
Food was delicious, The fruits available was always fresh and amazing.
As it is not in the center of the hustle and bustle, it was very quiet and relaxing. The cafes and night life was close enough.
The pool was well maintained and the best place to enjoy the evenings while sipping on a chilled beer.
With regards to value, There are cheaper locations (not recommended due to lack of facilities, cleanliness and sometimes security). We did not pay 5 star rates so we did not expect a star resort. What we got/ experienced is absolutely value for money.
Considering the location, the cleanliness, the price and service; I will definitely visit Palazzo Hikkaduwa again and will recommend it to anyone travelling to Hikkaduwa.

Recommended for a short stay!
We booked this hotel very spontaneously and were satisfied so far. The place is clean and breakfast was fine (fruit, various eggs, tea/coffee).
The town with various shopping facilities can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes.
We felt like the hotel was located on the “native side” of Hikkaduwa, so we always drove with TukTuks about 5 minutes south (south of Turtle Beach).
What we liked very positively was that we were allowed (despite a non-existent laundry service) to do our laundry in the hotel. The shower area is separated by a shower wall and the open areas of the room are provided with fly screens - so we had little to no mosquitoes in the room.
Recommended for a short stay.

Great stay!
Excellent food and service especially Amila. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I loved my stay here. The staff was very attentive. The meals were delicious. The locatio. offered easy access to a grocery store and other vendors. The best part was the proximity to the beach where you can swim and feed turtles! Amazing experience.

Great holiday
Nice location, near the beach. The hotel has a restaurant where you can eat deliciously. The room itself is spacious, nuanced, but not critical (for three stars will do). Cleaned on demand, hairdryer provided on request. The staff is excellent, very hospitable.
