Beauty in the Wild

Perfect stay, up to the price
Everything was perfect. From the kindness of the staff to the food. From the beauty of the place to its perfection in every way. From the room to the pool.... Everything was just perfect. It’s expensive but all-inclusive and definitely worth it

A gorgeous spot
We stayed for 3 nights from 9 July and had a fabulous experience. A number of staff attended to us ... in the dining room, around the pool and for housekeeping and without exception the service was wonderful. The pool and the accommodation are absolutely delightful. Good for body and soul. Thank you everyone for a magnificent stay.
I have just one suggestion and that is to make payment swifter and use of a credit card easy. I didn't always want to add to the room bill as I wasn't paying for our stay. When I wanted to use a card it was complicated and time consuming and awkward.

Exceptional Stay at Hilton Yala Resort
We had an amazing stay at Hilton Yala Resort. Everything was perfect from the beautiful rooms and peaceful surroundings to the outstanding hospitality.

A Stunning Property with Incredible Potential
We stayed at Hilton Yala Resort from 24–26 July 2026. Having never visited the property before, we intentionally booked two different room categories to experience both during our stay. As a thoughtful gesture, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade for our first night, which we genuinely appreciated.
From the moment we arrived, it was evident that Hilton Yala is a remarkable property. The architecture blends beautifully with its surroundings, the accommodation is elegant, the cocktails were some of the best we’ve enjoyed, and the food consistently exceeded our expectations throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, there were several service and communication gaps that prevented what could have been an exceptional experience.
Although we were entitled to the 10% Hilton Honors (HH) dining and spa discount, we believe the Front Office had not communicated this to the restaurant team before our first meal (lunch), as the discount was not initially applied. Meaning we had to raise it ourselves on both occasions.
The television programming in our room had also not been updated, although a housekeeping supervisor kindly assisted us after our turndown service.
On another occasion, we requested our room to be serviced before leaving for a safari at around 08:20. We returned at approximately 11:35, only to find that the room had still not been made up.
The biggest frustration during our stay was the planned water interruption. Although the outage was scheduled from 15:00 to 17:00, the notification only reached us at 15:13 via a room attendant. When the water had still not returned, I contacted the Front Office at approximately 17:11 and was advised that someone would call me back with an update. After receiving no call, I followed up again at around 17:40, but unfortunately no update was provided. The water eventually returned at approximately 18:35. A simple courtesy call explaining the delay and providing an estimated restoration time would have made a significant difference, allowing us to plan our evening instead of waiting in uncertainty.
Despite these shortcomings, the line staff were exceptional. Special thanks to Asela, Nuwan, Krishan, Jayan, Yasith and Dilanka for their genuine hospitality. Throughout our stay, we believe the only member of management we encountered was Executive Sous Chef Shakeer, who was approachable and guest-focused. Apart from him, the guest experience was carried by the exceptional line staff.
Greater management visibility throughout the resort would have complemented the team’s excellent work and further reflected the personalized hospitality that Hilton is renowned for.
Hilton Yala has all the ingredients to become one of Sri Lanka’s leading resorts. The stunning setting, beautiful accommodation, excellent food and cocktails, and genuine respect for Yala’s wildlife make it a truly special destination. With stronger communication and more visible leadership, I have no doubt Hilton Yala will fulfill its immense potential.
We left with wonderful memories and look forward to returning. Thank you to everyone that made our stay a comfortable one.
