I was really looking forward to the safari in Yarra National Park
Animals, lodges, local staff & guests
We had a wonderful time with everything!
During the day you can be in the world of animals and at night you can feel their breath.
It was the perfect lodge to experience it.
Walking safari around the lodge on the day of arrival, 1 day safari in Yarra National Park on the second day, relaxing in the lodge room & pool on the third day. It was such a three-day period ♪
Sri Lankan food and chat with staff at every meal, sunset and sunrise on the big rocks in the lodge, birds, squirrels, frogs etc. with us as guests
I also remember the Mosquito Ceremony every night.
Dhammika and the other staff are very friendly and nice guys!
I will cherish the photo panel of the leopard that I received as a souvenir.
If you love animals, staying more than 3 nights will be the best time

Fascinating days at Yakaduru
Our stay at the family room at Yakaduru was exceptional. The staff was polite and friendly and soo talented as well.
Loved the ROCK, and the sunset view from there. The tea on the rocks is highly recommended and an unforgettable experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon nature walk. Spotted some amazing birds and a cute bunny. Yakaduru is home to some incredible variety of birds and reptiles. Every moment is fascinating.
The food was great as well. We enjoyed the barbecue night. The food was beyond delicious. Even Kuttu night was fab.

Wonderful stay! Absolute recommendation:)
We only booked one night at Yakaduru Yala Safari Camp, but it was more than worth it! It was wonderful, even though we weren’t quite so lucky with the weather and couldn’t make full use of the communal pool as well as the facility – but if you can, it’s certainly amazing.
The room was impeccable and incredibly beautiful, and in the evening our bed was completely mosquito-free by a smoke. I would particularly like to highlight the incredibly friendly and courteous staff. They have made the stay even more enjoyable than it already was – and without being intrusive, although this is generally not the case in Sri Lanka.
I cannot tolerate Curry Leaves; we mentioned that at the beginning, and although this is a frequently used ingredient in this country, everyone was extremely understanding. They checked every dish and gave me the assurance that none were really used. The staff has always asked friendly if everything is good or we still need something. We also talked about everything – it was so interesting!

As a 2-star safari accommodation priced appropriately and neat in the basics.
This is not a 5-star product. And it doesn't have to be. If you rate it as a basic Safari base, it was overall good – until checkout.
Check-in: really good. Friendly welcome, good start.
Room and bathroom: basic, partly worn but clean. There is no air conditioning, so it was warm at night. Pros: Mosquito net was available. The room was “incensed” against mosquitoes – according to this typical incense smell that you have to like. Bathroom: basic but clean.
WiFi: always good.
Pool: available, small, not used by us.
Food: okay, served its purpose (3/6). Breakfast on safari: simple but good. Coffee: edible.
Location: good for safari. We had an external guide: very hard and really good. Highlight: We saw four leopards in two days – probably some of them the same animals, but still a strong experience.
And then the point that clearly clouded the impression: the checkout. It lasted about 30 minutes, with no comprehensible justification. Then you can be impatient. On top: We were handed a picture frame, in a way as if it were an apology. Later, this picture frame was on the invoice as a line – about 10 EUR. That's cheeky. That's exactly how you squander trust. There was consistently no tip this time.
Conclusion: As a 2-star safari accommodation priced appropriately and neat in the basics. The checkout including “gift that will be charged” is not possible at all and gets stuck.

Absolutely incredible
We stayed 2 nights at this amazing place, it’s been the highlight of our holiday so far. The camp is just on the outskirts of Yala national park and you really get to embrace the wildlife around you (frogs and all :)) We did a morning safari and a moon drive, both times with Dhamika who was so friendly and knowledgable. We were lucky enough to see 2 leopards, elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo, wild boar and many different species of birds. All the staff were very attentive and could not do any more for you, we also paid extra for the pool villa which was well worth the extra money. Don’t hesitate to book this, you won’t regret it!
