Definitely recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yala Wild House. The host was exceptionally friendly and provided us with a wonderful experience during the bush walk and nighttime animal sightings. The food was excellent, and the host ensured that everything was meticulously arranged for both breakfast and our safari the next day. Additionally, their transportation service to and from the bus station was a convenient and thoughtful touch. Overall, a delightful and well-cared-for stay.

Indeed, Priyantha (the owner) and his family will really take care for you by welcoming you in one of their bungalows protected from the sun by the trees and also by not only cooking for you but also initiate to lovely Sri Lankan music.
En effet, Priyantha et sa famille s'occuperont réellement de vous en vous accueillant dans l'un de leurs bungalows protégés du soleil par l'ombre des arbres et aussi pas uniquement en cuisinant pour vous mais aussi en vous initiant à la musique Sri lankaise lors du diner.
One added value is that the park entrance is very closed to their place which does help when you need to wake up early in order to see the animals early morning.
Une valeur ajoutée réside dans leur proximité à l'entrée du park ce qui est très appréciable quand vous avez besoin de vous réveiller très tot pour voir les animaux.
As well as the animals to discover in the park, there will also be the opportunity to meet warm people who honestly illustrate Sri Lanka.

Wonderful wild house
Visited on the first day the park opened after corona lockdown. The place has a simple beauty and authentic feel that cant be matched by other hotels nearby. The grounds with the daybeds/hammocks are so beautiful and relaxing and the general feel with birdsong and elephants trumpeting in the night time was all that we could have asked for.
Rooms are spacious but simple and reflect the price, the food was plentiful and tasty and the general ambience from all the staff was very warm and friendly. Safari was well organised and easy to get into the park as the guesthouse is only 2km from the park entrance office.
We cant recommend this place enough if you want a real family run place to stay and a real safari experience from start to finish. Priyantha and Suneth helped with everything and were amazing hosts. In every aspect its the perfect Yala experience!

So happy here, we cried - Priyantha is a hero
Our trip to Sri Lanka had so many highlights. The two stays we loved the most were when we became part of the family, and that's what happened here.
We stayed at Yala Wild house at the end of February towards the end of the season. We were the only couple staying here in the huts, and that just meant we had the best experience.
It's hard to know where to begin, and no words I write here will do justice to the incredible time we had here. We were so happy here each night it brought us to tears.
This place is unique, thanks to the family that run it. Priyantha, the owner and former Sri Lankan soldier, is a legend. An actual legend. He took so much pride in everything he did and arranged for us. His food was fantastic and his evening drumming -amazing.
Both nights we were there he and Thilakarathna and Premarathna treated us to music, singing and the local tipple. We had songs sung about our blue eyes, and it was just the best experience.
We did two Safaris at Yala in our time there which was great. We saw everything but leopards! I have safaried in South Africa and Sri Lanka and still not seen a leopard. I am beginning to think they don't exist!
Yala was great. It's a busy National park, and at times you do worry if all the jeeps are limiting your chances of seeing animals, but Premarathna was a kind and patient driver and left the crowds to show us a lot more.
From our arrival, when the lovely Pasindu greeted us and throughout our stay thanks mainly to Suneth our every need and question was answered.
The huts are basic but brilliant. Every morning I shared my shower with a few geckos, and at nighttime, we could hear the jungle creatures on the roof of our hut, but it all added to the experience.
February is a great time to visit Sri Lanka. The peak season is over, and you end up staying at places on your own.
I can not thank Priyantha enough for the incredible experience we had here. A little bit of my heart will remain forever in Yala Wild House, and I am confident that one day we will go back.

Yala visit
visited Yala Wild House couple of months ago. very nice serene place to relax. Owner caretaker Priyantha provided a first class service. It was a different atmosphere enjoying jungle life. My family had a longer stay though mine was brief due to other commitments.
