you get what you pay for

This review is for restaurant: With the disaster dinner experience the night before we went around beach to look for another place to eat local food and stumbled upon this place. We went in and it was deserted but we had to eat. We ordered one rice, fish and curry which was advertised for LKR 180 and one plate of fried prawns. I had no expectations but when I tasted the food it was absolutely delicious, bit spicy but very authentic (mind well it’s the salted and dried fish). The prawns were fresh, perfectly seasoned, crisp shells and juicy interior. We returned for dinner and our only option was fried rice (LKR 600) which was also ample and good. With not many options around the beach, Sunray was the lifesaver. The manager and the staff was very courteous and kind.

Average room but good food.

We travelled along many hotels all were almost full. Walked in here cz it was close to the public beach. The hotel was under renovation. Thus the room cost was 5k it worth that price at that time of the year. A bit isolated, service was fine.
*Food was so good and reasonable.

Grate place, but average service

Sunray is situated just above the famous passikudha beach. If you exclude all the star class hotels, this is the closest one to the beach.
Hotel was just after renovation when we go there. Still some parts are not finish and not tide enough in garden. But the place is great and we were able to enjoy the sea before it get crowded.
Food is bit expensive when compare with some other places, but room are reasonable. AC room that can accommodate 3 people is around 4500, and they charge only 3500 from us since the work is not finish.
Hope this will better on next time.

Comida correcta. Buen curry

Solo nos acercamos a comer, no pasamos la noche.
Como restaurante es correcto, era fin de semana y anunciaba curri&rice por 150/200Rs take away, dado que esta situado enfrente del parking de la gente local.
Dentro los precios eran diferentes, 400rs curry vegetal, 550rs chicken curry. Comida muy correcta, buena y abundante, incluso nos pregunto si queríamos mas.
En esta zona no hay mucha oferta para comer/cenar, se esta un poco aislado, por eso las playas son geniales. Dia anterio cenamos en el Inn on the Bay pero nos parecio muy caro y basico para lo que pusieron.

Только еда, не останавливайтесь там ночевать!

Так как у нас не было выбора (мы были уставшие и с чемоданами), мы остановились на одну ночь здесь. Мы отдали 6000 рупий. В номере есть кондиционер, душ. Но он ужасно грязный!!! Постельное белье грязное! С чужими волосами, пятнами, кругом насекомые и грязь. Это была ужасная ночь. На следующее утро персонал заявил: Вчера вы заплатили не шесть тысяч, а пять! В итоге нам пришлось заплатить ещё тысячу, лишь бы убежать из этого ада. В итоге весь этот ужас обошелся нам в 7000 рупий!
НО здесь вполне вкусная еда.
