Idyllic Vista review

The Idyllic Vista was the most beautiful guesthouse/small hotel we stayed in. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and spotless. The service was outstanding and we fell in love with the owner. The hotel had the most amazing views and we didn't want to leave this place, as it we felt so comfortable there.
We stayed there with our 4 children and felt most welcome.

nice vista but the food is the star of the show

The road to this hotel is incredibly windy and at times we were not really confident it was meant for cars at all! Thankfully our driver dealt with it very skilfully! It is quite a bit out of Kandy, but the vista over the valley is definitely worth it. We had the room with the huge balcony and on the last day they served us breakfast on the rooftop terrace which was amazing! The food was turned the stay from nice to very good. We had excellent rice and curry, and we particularly liked the presence of sweet Sri-Lankan options on the breakfast menu (milk rice and coconut pancakes both recommended).

There are three different access routes to the property, some of which can unfortunately seem quite far and complicated.

Loved our Stay

Everything about this little family run hotel was perfect. Very comfortable, very clean and ver accommodating. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The hotel is situated above the city with ver nice views. Getting into the city is no problem with a tuktuk ordered by the front desk.

Nice Property - Great Staff

We stayed at this property for 2 nights in first week of Jan. we were traveling in a big group and have booked 5 rooms. We arrived early on the day of check in. The guy at the reception greeted us nicely, helped us in early check in and arranged breakfast. We had kids with us which meant demand for hot water, mill etc. Few times in a day. Their staff is very nice in accommodating all our needs.
We felt like we are staying at a homestay.
The only issue I found was that their Beds are not that comfortable and WC in room no 101 requires repair as there was a foul smell coming from it.
Full marks to hotel staff for their courtesy!!

Wonderful family run hotel!

We visited this lovely family run hotel following a visit to Kandy. Really great friendly service and great choice of hot food for all the family. The staff are so hospitable and friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommended indeed!
