Incredible views from rooftop hotel
This was our third hotel of 5 in a week. First hotel was 400Rs for a soft drink (240 in the cafe opposite). The second was 750Rs and this was 650Rs.
We had lunch and dinner in the hotel. Pizzas were great but the meat dishes were not. The chicken burger was some kind of mix, as was the pork schnitzel. I was disappointed not to see more Sri Lankan food on the menu. The breakfast was a good spread and they are definitely catering to more European tastes but I’m not sure if it is entirely successful. There was no water available, we had to ask for it and they supplied cold bottles of water. These are my only criticisms of the hotel.
All of the staff were incredible. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and an anniversary. They created towel figurines in our rooms and also delivered personalised cakes. Every member of staff we spoke to mentioned our celebrations - that is what makes a stay memorable.

A lovely hotel!
Breakfast: good selection, delicious
Staff: very attentive and friendly
Rooms: spacious, clean, modern facilities
Very close to the Tooth Temple. Perfect for sightseeing.

Overpriced hotel with average service
The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are very nice, but it is completely overpriced for the quality of service provided. Instead of a standard buffet breakfast, there is a very limited, à la carte-style menu where you are restricted to just one order per person. To make matters worse, they even charge extra for water during breakfast. The food in the restaurant is mediocre and definitely not worth the high price.
The restaurant service is poor—you get the distinct feeling that you are interrupting the staff just by trying to order. The only bright spots were the housekeeping and front desk teams, who were very pleasant. For this price, I will definitely look for another hotel next time.

Poor Service
We orders kebab (2pax) and food was extremely cold like came out from a freezer, not worth for the price as well.
Staff was showing their attitudes like we were there to ask food for free.
They don't come and clean the table ones you done with food as well.
Also had to ask the invoice for 3 times.
Staff must know that people come there to have a good time & experience the quality, not to see their poor attitudes.

Memorable Stay, Wonderful staff
Our stay in the suite was truly wonderful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and offered breathtaking views throughout the day. Waking up to the stunning sights of Kandy Lake and the Sri Dalada Maligawa was an unforgettable experience that made our stay even more special.
We were also delighted by the complimentary rooftop dinner, which exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere, food, and panoramic views created a memorable dining experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms were super clean, and all facilities were well-maintained, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.
Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend The Trees Hotel to anyone visiting Kandy. Thank you once again for making our visit so memorable.
