Modern hotel with easy access to airport
Stayed at this hotel upon arrival into Sri Lanka and also stayed the day before departing.
The hotel is located walking distance to airport but you can get transport (Tuk Tuk. Uner. Taxi) if you have a lot of luggage or it is raining. The footpath is not currently completed all the way from the airport to the hotel but you can wheel your luggage on the bitumen road.
Check-in can be a little slow but they have seating they direct you to why this process is occurring.
There is a small cafe that also serves meals as well as a dining area where breakfast can be taken for an additional charge if not included in the room rate.
The room was very spacious with a large bed that was comfortable, bedside tables, plenty of lighting , writing desk and chair, very good WiFi in the room and in the hotel areas. Blackout curtains, smart TV , mini fridge, complimentary bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities.
Air conditioning with wall control panel. Plenty of wardrobe and storage space and a small digital safe in the wardrobe for storing valuables
The room is very quiet and the hallway outside the room is also carpeted that assists with reducing noise from guests coming and going from their rooms.
The bathroom has a fixed window that looks from the bathroom into the bedroom but has a good roll down blind for privacy if sharing room with a friend
The bathroom has complimentary toiletries and other products. Towels that you can actually dry yourself with and plenty of hot water that is sometimes lacking when travelling around more rural areas of Sri Lanka .
An iron and ironing board are available upon request from reception.
There is no phone in the room, you use WhatsApp to contact reception so if you don’t have the app and don’t want it you will need to walk down to reception.
I had breakfast on the first stay and it was of sufficient quality for a 4 star hotel.
I also had a meal and coffee and cake at the cafe that was also very good albeit a bit slow on the service side once ordered.
The hotel presently has a pool under construction at the rear of the hotel and a gym is also proposed.
Their is no other food or drink outlets within reasonable walking distance from hotel as it is mainly the airport and other industrial businesses.
Very good service from all the staff and would definitely stay again if transiting or needing a day or two after arriving or leaving from the airport at Negombo. rather than batting the traffic to/from Colombo.

Every thing was excellent til next morning. When we used the shower it flooded and in minutes water was flowing through the bathroom floor and was in the bedroom in seconds. By the time water cleared we checked out to continue our journey.

It needs to be made clear that the hotel has no proper dining facilities other than a cafe area in reception. No bar available. Will be a great hotel when it’s finished but in the interim if you arrive unprepared you will need to leave the hotel to find somewhere to eat, get a drink etc.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!
I made a reservation through Expedia on July 12 for a 1 night stay on September 4 as I am transiting through CMB on my way to the Maldives. On Aug 13, I received an email saying that the hotel had cancelled my reservation with no reason provided. I contacted Expedia as this had never happened before in all the years that I have used Expedia. They apologized profusely and said that the hotel had cancelled due to lack of availability. I won’t go into all the details but it’s now costing me 3 times as much for my 1 night stay and transfers from/to the airport with a 30 minute commute 1 way because the hotel cancelled my reservation. Don’t get caught out like me and reserve somewhere else. The hotel does not deserve your business if this is how they treat their guests. I can highly recommend the SENTIDO HERITANCE hotel in Negombo who have provided exceptional service so far, so book there instead. It’s where I will be staying!

Extremely disappointed – our anniversary trip was ruined
We stayed at Colombo International Airport Hotel for the final night of our anniversary trip. Unfortunately, this was one of the most upsetting hotel experiences we have had.
Before leaving the room, we accidentally left USD 200 on the table. While we were out, housekeeping entered the room because we had activated the housekeeping service. When we returned several hours later, the money was missing.
We immediately contacted the hotel through the WhatsApp number provided and received no response, so we went to the reception desk. The staff said they would investigate. Later, we were told that the money had indeed been seen by housekeeping, and they even showed us a photograph taken of the cash on the table. However, we were then informed that they could not do anything because there was proof the money was present when housekeeping left, and there are no cameras inside the room.
The most disappointing part was the lack of responsibility and empathy. We were essentially told that this would not have happened if we had used the safe, and that if we wished, we could file a police complaint—even though we are international travelers flying back to our country the next day.
We even sent a message saying that if the money had been misunderstood as a tip, we were willing to clarify and simply wanted our money back, as it was the remaining money for our trip. Our message was seen but not answered.
What makes this even more upsetting is that we chose this hotel because it appeared well-known, well-rated, and trustworthy. We have stayed in many hotels and guesthouses in different countries, including places without safes, and have never experienced anything like this.
In addition, we had informed the hotel in advance that this was our wedding anniversary and were told a small bed decoration would be arranged. Nothing was prepared, and the staff at check-in did not appear to be aware of the occasion.
The staff were friendly and welcoming during our stay, but this incident completely overshadowed everything else. Losing our remaining travel money and receiving so little practical help or reassurance ruined what was supposed to be a special anniversary vacation.
I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience.
