It is a best place for local peoples
It is a very best place in nilaweli beach side.it has lots of delicious foods and friendly staff,so i think as a local one,it is not only for foreigners,it is a good place for our local peoples also.thank you very much for corporation

Caution: Lots of wild dogs
One of the worst hotels on the island...no air conditioning, the stuffiness is terrible. We spent two nights here. I had nightmares... I woke up every hour from lack of air. There is no hot water provided. The linen is of terrible quality... it feels like bed fleas are biting. 850 meters from the beach. Walk along the country road. There are a lot of cows and dogs on the beach. Quite dirty. On the left side is a security zone with a radiation sign. After 18:00 we were unable to get to the beach due to many wild and angry dogs
This is also the first time I’ve seen this. The food at the hotel is tasteless, they don’t know how to cook at all. And very expensive at that. 6,000 rupees for two for tuna overcooked to black and fresh juice from who knows what. There are a lot of intrusive dogs on the hotel premises that rush at you from all angles. God forbid you end up with food in your hands. To get into the room you have to work hard to drive them away. There is nowhere to eat outside the hotel. This is a village.

Overall, I would say that this hotel does the minimal requirement - minus.
The minimal requirement because it provides you with a place to sleep and to wash in the morning. "Minus" because do not expect the service to live up to your minimal expectations. I booked a "double room" and for some reason I got downgraded to a tiny single one because the double 'all of a sudden' was no longer available. It's true that I was travelling alone but at the time of the booking, there was no single room available either. I just lost some sqm just like that despite the conditions of the booking. Then I eventually got a towel and some bed sheets the next day because 'all of a sudden' the maid realised I had none. I just had accepted they were none actually. My room was tiny but I wasn't the only occupant unfortunately: A cockroach already settled on the curtain. The next day, because he realised there was somebody else in the room, he let me use most of the room and hide under the bed. But the night the room was theoretically his. Say, that was some sort of tacit agreement we had. In any case, not a good idea to set the rooms just above the kitchen (or the other way round).
Well, to be honest, I did not pay the room for an expensive price. I got some sort of promotion on this. But, would the price be higher, or would you have alternative places to stay, I won't recommend it.

Perfect wedding in Sri Lanka according to our own ideas
We spent in a hotel two happy weeks. In the same room with the same owner and employees.During that time we chilled ourselves in the ocean and finished two scuba-diving courses in a recommended civing company (Pearl divers). Then... we decided to do the best thing in our lives - we got married in Nilaveli beach.
We happily arranged all stuff including wedding saree, dresses of bride and our whitness, flowers and chose perfect wedding place on the beach. We asked the registration office in Trincomalee for an officer to come to our place on the beach. We booked another hotel for our wedding night because we wanted to escape from people/friends/noise and we wanted to try ayurveda massages..
Although everything seemed to be perfectly arranged for the wedding by our own iniciative, some tasks and troubles came out during the wedding day, as usual in all wedding in the world. But all was perfectly solved because of the ability and responsibility of the hotel owner. You know, our wedding was only our bussiness as we wanted to arrange everything on our own. But he just helped us whenever we needed. For instance, the wedding officer was late in his office and nobody knew where he is. The owner of hotel just drove twice to Trincomalee and picked him up after he appeared in his office. Our wedding was thus rescued (only 40 min later and not cancelled because of the officer mistake). Also, he allowed us to cut bamboo trees from hotel garden, as we wanted to have ceremony under small protection sheet of silk bound by a rope on the bamboo columns. He also brought both brides to the wedding place and generated a movie during the ceremony. We asked him to arrange wedding party in his hotel in one of the separate houses in the hotel garden. We suggested the diner list. He invited one of our friend in the morning of wedding day to go with him to fish market and buy everything for small "srilanka locals" price. So four really really big fish (1.5 kg each) cost only 2000 rupies after preparation. Final amount of whole dinner for 25 people was only 50K rupies including bier, arak and all food. He also was not angry after I bought new warmer-light bulbs to wedding party place, candels, our own decoration. He provided us with complete sound system for free. Could you ever imagine that he never minded to bring us to another hotel for our wedding night by his own car? He also went to Trincomalee to pick up our marriage certificate translated from Sinhali to English. We found out a bad mistake in it after translation, so he just jumped on his motorbike and went second time to translator, however it was our bussiness to do it. During the wedding party he delegated two employees only for us, although there was Sri Lanka goverment delegation (Ministry) accommodated it the same hotel same night (1 Minister and 20 army guys/assistants).
If you wanna stay in a hotel not typically situated for western tourist, which is preffered by srilanka Minister and also many Sri Lanka residents, this is the perfect choice in whole Nilaveli. We appreciated their cousine, sometimes prepared by the owner wife. We appreciated the price. Our room was cute with small bathroom, three beds and shared balcony. Every morning at five am, there is muslim mass from mosque very close to the hotel land. For this case, it is better idea to bring ear plugs. Our friends got a big room with big bathroom and terrace, the only one room in that floor. They slept whole night with opened door making natural airflow and without fear of anybody coming. You can aso install your hamak on this terrace.
Sometimes, there were troubles coming with bad spoken English causing misunderstanding, but this is the same as everywhere in this island. English is not the official language at all and new generation simply does not learn at school properly. Everything is solved while smilling. They love it! The owner never tried to adjust a servis provided by second party with his own provision.
Beach is bit far meaning that you need 10 min to go by feet. However, the price per room is reasonable and the same room quality you can get in hotel on the beach with 4-5x higher price. We visited also some big resorts (NIlavelli beach hotel and Pigeon hotel resort) and we were simply disappointed. Imagine hundreds of white-skin people going in and out all the time, bathing in swimming pool instead in the ocean. Sri-Lanka people working there only as sevants. I am very happy for a possibility to stay in a typical sri-lanka resort.
Hotel was very helpful with everything. They are even capable to go and buy bananas in the evening if we wish to have fried bananas as a desert after dinner. It is also one of restaurants permanently offering lobster, bier and one of the best rice/curry we have ever had in the island. Hotel garden is without any plastic garbage.
No moskytiere needed if close to the ocean. Price for Pigeon island snorkeling for two people is the same for all foreigners, 8500 including entrance fee, transfer and equipment.
Enjoy your stay and tell the owner of hotel everything when you have some hardtime or troubles! He will try to solve them for sure. If you got room with too short bed, just ask for change. :-)

Friendly and good stay..
It's a good place for relaxing... Nice view. Also Food is delicious.. Friendly staff, especially that old man in front desk he was so helpful. We stayed one night.tht room rate is okay, If compare with other hotel it's cheap... We took o1 double duplex room. It bit small room. But good clean...... Overall stay was good..
