A Beautiful Property with Room for an Even Warmer Welcome

Chimneys is a charming property with a lovely English-country-house atmosphere and plenty of character. The setting in Nuwara Eliya is beautiful, and we especially appreciated the warm hospitality of the team who prepared and served our breakfast each morning.
As we were the only guests during our stay, their kindness made the experience feel very personal. The management was always professional, although a slightly warmer and more engaging approach would have made us feel even more welcome.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful house, with special thanks to the breakfast team for their genuine hospitality.

A short but very nice stay!!

We had a super experience in Chimneys! It is a small and personal hotel that is nicely decorated. The rooms are spacious with good mattresses and the seating area is very pleasant. Gavin is a very good host and gives us the right tips that gave our stay in Nuwara Eliya an added value, such as the visit to Pedro’s tea factory! We were also prepared a nice breakfast package for our early trip to the Horton Plains, personally handed over by Gavin!
Highly recommended so and would definitely return!!

Chimneys Hotel Nuwara Eliya review

The hotel is very colonial and is maintained very well by Mr.Gavin and his team. Mr.Gavin gave us all the comfort and support especially as we were traveling with senior citizens. The breakfast was very authentic with Srilankan and Continental Delicacies served very fresh. Will surely visit this hotel next time as we felt so much at home. Mr Gavin and his entire team were very friendly.

The kind of hospitality that stays with you

An absolutely stunning property. The gardens are breathtaking, the rooms are grand, the atmosphere is magical, and every corner of this location is beautiful. But what truly made our stay exceptional was Gavin. We visited as a family for Mother’s Day and he and his staff went above and beyond to make us feel so warmly welcomed and looked after and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. His hospitality is genuinely exceptional and heartfelt. If you’re looking for a place that combines beauty with warmth, look no further. Highly recommend!
