Excellent…
Superb place for family outing. Relax as hell. Staff will support you on any situation. Believe me magical place. Love it. Bird sounds only. You can enjoy really clean pool and the great view too. Birds are roaming around the hotel always. Happy holidays. Cheers.

Price not worth it
Nice place to do activities and a nice pool. However, we found the rooms old and not fresh. Lots of dust and cobwebs. Also a lot of mosquitoes. Overall we thought it was definitely not worth the price. Have posted this review on booking and got rude comments from the owner back there.Very sorry.

Owners Should Focus to Improve this place
Either the Owner or the Manager should be directly be involved to run this place. Any Agent brings the Clients & speaks to someone but nothing improves. This place can be very good if the owners focus . The only factor saves this place is the two old ppl running the place. They seem to be good people. We were introduced to an agent called Sanjeewa who cheated us & he was the one who had connected to Wasanth ( (077) 239 5060 ) He introduced himself as the so called Manager but we hardly saw him in the Bungalow , he looked more of a road side agent who went on keeping his commissions for even getting us drinks to taxi etc. Be aware of him incase any one reading this comes across him as he will keep his high commissions and you would not be able to do much as the Bungalow is in a isolated place. Wasanth offered us River Rafting , he was supposed to pick us up at 9.30am for a start at 10am but kept us waiting till 11.30am . We ultimately started at 12noon and we had to hurry up by completing the Rafting quicker as we we’re scheduled to leave for another destination.

Our team, including our two elderly members, whom you kindly acknowledged, strive to maintain this charm and provide a unique and satisfying experience to our guests.
As for the unfortunate experience you had with the agent Sanjeewa, I regret the discomfort you faced. However, please understand that we do not have any association with him. As a small local business, we do not have the resources to control or monitor the conduct of individual agents who are not directly affiliated with our property. We advise our guests to be vigilant in such matters, especially during these challenging economic times.
Regarding the incident with Wasanth, we apologize for the delay in your rafting activity and the inconvenience it caused. We understand how valuable time is while on vacation, and we will address this issue directly with him to prevent future delays.
As for the payment receipts, it is our policy to provide them to all our guests. We apologize for this oversight, and we will take immediate measures to ensure that this mistake is not repeated in the future. If you would like, we can provide a digital receipt for your stay. Please let us know if that would be acceptable.

Kithul Villa Holiday Bungalow
We arrived at the villa after spending the morning white water rafting. Rooms were lovely and clean with an awesome clean pool to cool off in while admiring the beautiful view. Although the rooms lack air conditioning it made up for with the best shower I’ve had since arriving in Sri Lanka. Great pressure and hot water . Staff were always there if needed and food was good.

Terms & conditions changed last moment - never book again!!!
We booked the guest house for our family holiday in first weekend of January, three weeks in advance. The rate agreed and deposit paid. The rate advertised and informed us was excluding meals. Meals was an optional item and a menu was sent after the deposit for us to confirm if we would like to order 3 meals. As the menu is not much attractive to us we wanted to have meals outside the premises and hence did not go with this option. Since the booking through to the previous day of our scheduled visit, we had communication with guest house staff re: other arrangements that we require as our families have children under 5 age. The staff also informed we can do bbq on our own and allowed us to bring meat and charcoal to use the facilities onsite.
Surprisingly, the previous day of our scheduled visit , the hotel management informed us it is compulsory that we have the meals from them otherwise they will cancel our booking. We were very disappointed with this last moment change and started to negotiate. The hotel mangement were very inflexible and constantly talked over during our discussions with them. They always asked us to cancel our booking irrespective of the negotiations we tried to make. Given the situation, we had no other option other than cancelling our booking. We were lucky enough to find another place in Kitulagala area within a few hours.
We got to know they cancelled our booking to accept a large booking to make the house fully booked with meals. This is really unethical and caused a lot of pain for us when we had the booking in advance and well planned to make our visit next day.
We strongly suggest future visitors to recheck the terms and conditions with them and confirm via emails the arrangements .
If the meals are compulsory, they should indicate the full board rate on any booking sites and in their website. This is not the case. They refunded our deposit.

We have been running Kithulvilla holiday bungalow and Kithulvilla restaurant since 2010, and we have dealt with foreign and local clients for the last 10 years without any confusion never had any experience like yours.
Please make a note of our reviews on booking.com, Airbnb and Tripadvisor all performing very well and with very much satisfied customers.
