Excellent hospitality

We enjoyed our stay here with great hospitality from a nice couple. The room and bathroom were good-looking and clean. The bed was comfortable. Hot Water working well. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We will go again.

A good budget homestay

Whilst on a backpacking holiday, stayed here for 3 nights with my wife, and an adult daughter in a separate room. The host collected us from the train station and transported us to his home. The rooms were ample for our needs, the shower was hot and was so far the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The meals were plentiful and tasty. Our sleep here was excellent, no noise on a night. For the price we were very happy with the accommodation and the hosts were attentive, helpful and friendly. There is a path directly outside the property leading to town, about 10 minutes walk. The host also returned us to the train station for a reasonable price, thank you.

Comfortable stay with warm welcome

The property was neat and clean. The breakfast was delicious, typically Sri Lankan and very plentiful and home prepared by Mr Sarath and Jayanthie both of whome could not have been more attentive. Mr Sarath took us on a tour of 2 tea estates and waterfalls and on the day we left took us to the railway station, both at competitive prices. The shortcut pathway to town is a little precarious so a lamp is essential for the evening return in the dark, but makes access to town 10 minutes.
Value for money I highly recommend this accomodation.

Average

Good: Nice friendly owner, rooms clean, has a rooftop but it wasn't constructed, you dont get cold as blankets are
provided.
Bad: location is far out (15 min walk and road is very dark at night. You have to take a narrow shortcut), breakfast is very basic (jam or egg sandwiches), it is very loud near the stay with neighbours and general community.
Overall: okay stay. Potentially better located home stays elsewhere. We were still happy with our choice :)

Don't waste your time

Owner does over booking. We arrived there was too many people for the rooms available.
He still offered bunk beds instead of private rooms we had booked (nice way to scam people)
Owner was not here we had to wait 20min before discovering he was just a scam.
Don't waste time here. We left on the spot to go somewhere else, the place and owner felt to shady. Other peoples in the same situation did the same.
The message 5 stars must be his btw.
