Simple

Able to catch up on sleep here and the air con was excellent. The front of the place looks like is an unfinished building site. Didn’t sample the food. I think it was ok price wise but it’s at the top of what it should cost. Comfortable bed and good shower

Hidden good place

This is a new BB hidden in a narrow street. They are just constructing the upper part. The man talks always a lot. The dinner was lovely. The rooms are very very clean. The breakfast is just ok, because it's good but it's not a typical breakfast

Lovely stay in Polonnaruwa

We had a really nice stay at My home guest. The staff was really kind and smiling. They contacted us on what’s app before our arrival to offer us dinner.
The room was super clean and spacious.
The breakfast was very generous. The guest house offers bike rental, which is very convenient to go around the ruins!
We definitely recommend My home guest for a stay at Polonnaruwa.

Awful owner, avoid this place

First of all, this place is still on construction, the building is not finished. Secondly, the owner is not in the place, a boy is there sometimes, not all the time and he doesn't speak English, so he can't help you with anything, if you ask him something, he is going to phone the owner, sometimes he answers the phone, other times he doesn't.
When we left, the owner was there, we said goodbye to him, the answer was "OK". We went to our tuk tuk and he came behind us only to ask if we had paid the bill...so nice man.

Lovely room

Good location
Not much space to park a car
Lovely decor in the rooms
Soft comfortable bed
Mosquito net too small
Host had to search for the pole to put it up
The room was clean as was bathroom
Breakfast more than adequate
Employees need course in food handling and general waiting etiquette
We did not find the same level of hospitality found elsewhere in Sri Lanka
Even though the building is unfinished we don’t think you would be disappointed with the accommodation
