Super service. AMAZING

The bungalow was great. The food was super tasty. The swimming pool is nicely located by the river. The staff a big 10. Safari is all set. Awesome

Authentic and peaceful location.

We had a very good time. A very authentic and peacesful location, with nice and clean rooms, a realy fun river to relax and get cool and with very good food. The host Madou did everything he could to make our stay as plesant as possible. Real Sri Lankan hospitality!

A Great potential wasted!

While this place is set in a wonderful location and has tremendous potential to be a great Jungle lodge experience, the management and owners have squandered the opportunity. Nothing seems to function or work here as you might expect. Electricity keeps fluctuating most times(and even gets cut for long periods at times), making the stay inside a warm tent almost unbearable. The quality of the fittings and furnishings in the tents are degrading and desperately in need of an upgrade. The food and the restaurant have a long way to go! The only saving grace is the lovely service by the sweet staff!
LOCATION: Great location in the heart of Udawalawa National Park.
DINE + DRINK: Most of the food we got served was cold, and almost inedible. They certainly need to fix their restaurant as well as what gets dished out to very captive guests.
ROOM: We stayed in Chalet #6, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: ; AIR-CON: A very weak airconditione that barely kept the room ventilated. Adding an additional fan didn't help as it was quite warm throughout the stay; BATHROOM: A horrendous shower that barely spouted any water, let alone hot water!; TOILETRIES: Non-existent, please bring your own if you dare to stay here!
FACILITIES: No Gym or pool on site.
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout-out to Mr.MADHU and DAMITE for hosting us as a family
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works only in the restaurant area. No TV in the tent

An exceptional place out of time

The incredible hospitality of the hosts, everything is done to please us!
It's touching to see such kindness
The place is surprising, the omnipresent jungle, the comfortable rooms
The sound of the soothing river
The local food is delicious with great culinary discoveries!

Value for money

We stayed one night at the river glamping and ate there for easily visiting udawalawe park. It was our cheapest accomodation in our sri lankan trip and had a better time here than some other places.
Madu, the owner, is a friendly man who cooks for his guests and provides beverages on demand. The food was very enjoyable. He also packed our breakfast for the safari we had booked elsewhere. Sometimes it feels as if he and his colleague are still getting used to the tourism industry and the english language, but that is entirely made up with goodwill.
At the end of the property, you will find an entrance to the river, while not so much for longer swims (it gets too rocky here and there) it offers a very tranquil bathing opportunity which we enjoyed with very friendly locals.
The tent was well maintained, with airco, shower and a good bed. You can see the occasional iguana and monkey when sitting on the balcony of the tent.
While not related to this accommodation directly, the udawalawe national park became one of our favourite days in our trip. Staying here for the safari is an excellent choice, but perhaps one night was too few to enjoy the area around the park in full.
