Gorgeousness on sea

The Sandy Beach Hotel is a beautiful piece of paradise on the famed Arugumbay coastline. Right on the beach, the restaurant sits on the sand under palm trees. Most of the rooms have balconies looking out to sea.
The waves crash deliciously onto the beach, providing a backdrop to the day's activities.....or inactivity.
Come and enjoy sand, surf and sun.

Beautiful location but kitchen is too slow

Review is only about restaurant. Slowest food service in the whole of Arugam Bay. Do NOT order food here. We waited more than one hour and a half for just chips and egg fried rice. Nothing fancy and something any decent restaurant can cook up within ten minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. Staff doesnt seem too bothered either. Location is amazing, but please stick to drinks only.

Wouldn't come back

The first room was not the one we booked, so we changed the other night...which was even worse...no water at all...we had to use the main shower outside the room...staff is sleeping around the whole day...if you have a question you need to wake them up - somehow....we left the hotel after two days because it was nothing we expected...

Directly on the beach - all you need in Arugam Bay

The hotel itself offers basic and clean rooms. Most of the rooms offer views on the oceans. The room is made after 2 nights. Many restaurants and surf schools are nearby. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money. We stayed in a family room which had enough space for the 4 of us.

Awesome restaurant!

We have been to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner for many days: the food is fantastic and healthy. Opportunity to taste absolutely delicious Italian-Sinhalese dishes. Alex the owner is friendly, helpful and also a fantastic chef!!!
