Lovely cheap family homestay

Ameena Homestay is an upstairs guest apartment above a family home with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen/dining area. We originally booked one room but on arrival upgraded to the whole apartment for a tiny amount extra.
The accommodation is basic but clean - excellent value for the very low price.
The family were friendly and the food good.
The location up a short driveway opposite the beach is convenient with many restaurants nearby. Unfortunately the sea was a bit rough for swimming in February.

Very good and friendly homestay

Very good location, close to the beach, 20 minutes to town, quiet place where you sleep with the noise of the waves. Cheap, confortable, kleen, possibility to cook, we cannot ask for more. Very good cooking of the mother.
Highly recommended.

perfect location,perfect family

they have just two rooms.with sharing sitting area...we were there for just 2 days.our plan was going around the Tangalle.but after meet with the little girl.....we stayed 10 days....if you would like to taste real srilankan family this is the best place.breakfast is so nice specialy srilankan one is huge ...and if you eat here dinner is also so tasty.mom is cooking .
Realy happy family and friendly, helpfull.
location is central. just second building from the beach.we left our heart there.there is little girl.who played with us 10 days.Tangalle has realy nice beaches but also around tangalle there are so many small beaches take a bus to Matara and go each of them.
just go and stay there you will love them.

Couldn't have asked for more!

So glad we stayed here during our time in Tangalle. What a lovely family. The rates were competitive given it was the off season, the room was spotless, we we're left to our own devices which we liked, one evening we ordered a traditional Sri Lankan curry which was very tasty indeed.
The location was perfect for us and so close to the beach, and the wifi connection was very fast.
So impressed thank you for an amazing stay!

Nice place to stay

Last year I spent one month staying at Ameena
This year I am once again staying here
The rooms and bathrooms are clean the family that run/own this home stay are polite and helpful, should you choose to eat here the food is excellent, you can also receive cooking lessons Sri Lankan stile, there is also free wifi
Just 1 minutes walk to the beach, great!!
I wish the family all the best
