Could be better
We have booked a (standard) room without a private pool and will be welcomed on arrival. After we moved into the room (which is nicer in the picture when booking than in real life) we noticed a few things. Like the air conditioning that didn't work properly and a loose toilet so there was a well smell. After passing on these complaints, the people immediately started working to remedy these cases, but in the meantime we are 4 hours further. Later on, the shower drain was also found not to drain properly. We reported this, but told them to fix this when we were gone. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately the room lacked a small fridge. It was very quiet at night, so we slept well.
Furthermore, as the owner I would have made a terrace / seat outside. The space for this is available.
The pool located at the reception is not very inviting, which is a pity and we have not used it.
All in all this accommodation was a setback, but it would have certainly met our expectations with sufficient control and minor improvements

DISSAPOINTING STAY
NOT AS ADVERTISED . not what we expected at all ... we had paid for breakfast with our booking but unless u placed order the day before you could not have this .. we did this on the first day but when it arrived the following morning the order was awfull .. egg was discusting and all meal stone cold no coffee bought up with it as stated. After breakfast we went out for the day on return at around 4pm the dishes were still were we left them the animals had helped themselves and was all over terrace and pool area room had not been cleaned or anything .... i was told we have to ask if we want rooms cleaned or dishes taken away .. they did come and clear up but only afger me not being to happy ....The room was dull and dark with no actual windows , very smelly i think it was the drainage which made the bathroom and bedroom smell bad The shower room flooded the whole bathroom everytime ot was used . I had to ask for extra towel to mop up the mess as was unsafe once flooded .
Unless your specifically asked on a day they did not replenish towels ,toilet rolls or coffee ,tea ,sugar .
We had booked the villa as liked the idea of a pool of our own to chill and relax if we didnt go off for day or even at end of day after a day out but the pool was dirty i had to ask for it to be cleaned a few occasions to enable us to use it .There was only 1 sunbed to use and two people. The whole room and pool area was tired and needed work .. was dull and dark and damp smellinh inside and tired outside. The TV didnt work at all we were very dissapointed in our stay and if i could of got my money back and moved i would of . The best thing was the location the ease to go off and get food and drink and go out thankfully as we would of gone mad sat there all day.

Revolting, unclean and unsafe.
We would 100% avoid in future! The professional photos do not match the actual condition of the rooms and property, which are dirty, dark, and rundown and the property is in an unpleasant area of Tangalle. There was a genuine risk of electrocution in the shower and something which looked like human excrement smeared across the wall. The pool looked filthy, the pathway was a heap of dangerous, broken tiles, and the access gate was covered in giant red ants. Really revolting!

Very Disappointed with Service and Management – Not Recommended
We booked 4 villas at Anama Hotel in Tangalle, including 3 with private pools and 1 with a common pool due to limited availability. From the very beginning, we clearly informed the hotel that we were a group of 4 families with children, coming to celebrate a birthday. We specifically asked if it was okay to use a JBL speaker for some music during the celebration, and the hotel agreed. We also paid the advance in good faith.
However, once we arrived, the hotel staff suddenly told us we were not allowed to use the JBL speaker. Even after we showed them our chat history and call recordings proving they had agreed earlier, they refused to accept it and spoke to us in a very rude and unprofessional manner.
There was no manager or responsible person available to talk to us. They avoided our calls and left us feeling completely ignored. The way they handled the situation was extremely disappointing and not at all how a hospitality business should treat its guests.
Also, we were originally told that the 4th villa (the one with the common pool) was on the same premises as the other villas. But when we arrived, we found out it was located on a separate land, far away from the main building. The path to reach it was inconvenient and had no proper walking access.
We do not recommend this place for families or anyone expecting respectful communication, honesty, or basic customer service.
