A Hidden Gem That Has Truly Found Its Charm!

From the moment we arrived, we could feel the warmth and care that went into every corner of the hotel. The lobby was beautifully lit and welcoming — modern yet cozy, with a calm, inviting atmosphere that instantly set the mood for a relaxing stay.
Our suite was spacious, elegantly designed, and exceptionally clean. The terraces offered stunning panoramic views, and everything — from the comfortable bed to the neatly finished walls and fittings — reflected real attention to detail. The bathroom had excellent hot water and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay.
Dinner was a delight! The setting was peaceful and romantic, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s clear the team takes pride in offering not just comfort, but a complete experience that makes guests feel cared for.
Overall, this place has a wonderful blend of tranquility, comfort, and beauty. It’s the kind of hotel where you can unwind completely and feel that everything has been thoughtfully done to make your stay special.

Good place for a holiday

Hotel is at the edge of Victoria reservoir hence last 200 meters of the access road is narrow though motarable by a van or car. Server, Wimale is doing a good job and kitchen prepares a tasty meal according to your choice. Regular maintenance might be needed as some local guests failed to use high standard fixtures properly as I observed. The owner, Randika is helpful in recommending nearby places of interest those you can explore during your stay.

Hidden gem

You will be welcomed by the owner Randika, who also lives here. He is assisted by Wima (I'll use an abbreviated version of his name for convenience). Randika speaks fantastic English and exudes pure pride when he talks about his hotel. It's his creation, and it worked out well! Downstairs you will find the central hall with a sitting area. A large rock rises in the middle of the house, the house is built around it. A second sitting area can be reached via a few steps. A large space interrupted by three sides with windows that give you a view over the banks of the Victoria Reservoir. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms, the largest room is really gigantic. A large double bed and a possible extra bed are at your disposal here. The room has some level difference by means of a ceiling. 2 steps. All sides have windows all around the view is just as beautiful here. In addition, this room has a gigantic terrace that runs around the room. The bathroom with shower and whirlpool also has large windows to the outside, so that taking a bath in the evening becomes an experience. Randika has some suggestions to do as an activity and he will help you with anything you want. He also works in the kitchen himself and makes everything on his (extensive) menu. The prices seem a bit high, but that's as long as you see the quantity of it. And the taste is really great!

Castle Palace KandyPoor service

Pros : -Good location. Accessibility is little difficult due to road.- The rooms were basic and ok. Cons -The water pressure was very low ,The Jacuzzi and the hot water did not work.Maintenance is very poor.There are no natural pools very near. Basically it's a house which is not maintained properly.Don't get caught for FB Promoters because it completely mislead the clients. Overall it was a bad experience for us.

The Castle Palace - Kandy

We actually did the reservation after seen the advertisement through FB
We booked the Suit room full board basis for two nights
The location was mesmerizing as there was a lovely lake surrounded the hotel
Room was specious and lovely architectural settings
But mini bar was empty , no coffee tea maker as advertised
Jacuzzi was available but need guidance to operate
No floor carpets
Balcony was specious and had a superb view of the atmosphere
But the dinner which was served for us was not worth for the cosy we paid
We had to asked extra dishes
And the menu was decided by them and not for our liking . Hence had to complain
And the menu which was offered was not catered as they inform at the last minute to choose some other options
So unprofessional in that way and as cheap food was catered even charging a high cost
Due to the dissapointment we had to change the full board to B&B on the following day
DDisturbance were through out our stay due to constructions
Owner was there but doesnt even face us
But the staff was friendly and helpful
No intercom or telephone facility in the room hence we had to use our personal mobiles to contact them
If the above mentioned points are being improved and without misleading the guests by advertising fraud , we would like to revisit and recommend for others because the hotel was surrounded with mesmerizing scenery
