Great. Great.

We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel is located on a quiet alley with all amenities within walking distance. The staff are very friendly and offer good service. There is a swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds. However, there was sometimes an unpleasant smell there. Furthermore, in the garden you feel like you are in the jungle. Lots of greenery, various bird species, squirrels and sometimes even monkeys, which are not annoying or aggressive. The rooms and the rest of the buildings are 0 super cared for and decorated with many beautiful pictures. The room itself is spacious, has a nice (slightly hard) bed, a mini fridge, kettle, TV, safe and a fan. The rooms also have a balcony with comfortable chairs. The bathroom with a nice shower is outside. However, the rooms are a bit noisy. The room is cleaned daily and everything is replenished, including the water and coffee/tea. The breakfast is also well catered for. Towels for the pool or beach, which is a few minutes walk away, are provided at the reception. There are several restaurants in the area
There is a point of criticism, the last 30 meters in front of the hotel are very dark evenings where a little lighting would be very welcome.
We would definitely go back at this well priced hotel if we were in Unawatuna again.

Like sleeping in a calm bracket

We stayed three nights at Aurora with my girlfriend and it felt more like borrowing someone's well-functioning vacation life than staying in a hotel.
The room and bed were really good. The AC did exactly its job without drama, which in the tropics is gold. The balcony was big enough for you to actually use it and the garden around was like a green filter over the entire stay. The outdoor bathroom was one of those details you first raise your eyebrows at and then do not want to be without.
The location is perfect. A stone's throw from the beach but far enough from the main street for calm to have the last word. The pool is unheated, which for me was a plus. A cooling dip as a quick restart between beach and evening.
The atmosphere was familiar and relaxed, with monkeys moving in the trees reminding us that you are actually far from home.
Summary: Aurora is like a soft break in the journey.
You sleep well, stress less and wake up feeling that everything is exactly as it should be.

A beautiful little girl

A very nice little hotel drowned us in greenery. Great welcome. Nice team. A very complete breakfast. The swimming pool is beautiful surrounded by greenery where you can see monkeys walking in the trees. It’s just beautiful. The rooms have a beautiful separate bathroom overlooking the outside. You can always find something wrong with this kind of establishment, but you have to remember that we are not in Europe and there are always a few small details that need to be set aside. It is an excellent choice, very close to the beach and ideal for excursions from anywhere. The whole family loved a great experience, I start again strongly.

Room was very damp.

The place itself is a nice little hotel. The staff are lovely and it’s a few minutes walk to the beach. The problem is our room absolutely stank of damp. It’s unsaturated into the mattresses. We asked for new sheets as they were actually damp and the staff were more then happy to change them and the pillows. Still doesn’t help the small. We had to buy some incense to cover up the smell. For this reason alone I wouldn’t come back here. I understand it’s a very humid country but you’ve gotta sort out the damp.

When Exoticism combines with Romanticism

Hotel where you feel at home. Exceptional service, availability all staff is admirable. Romantic, exotic and relaxation. You will find everything within a kilometer radius. A true paradise and haven of peace. The pleasure of seeing a ballet of chimpanzees every morning.
