Good night's stay

We stayed at thambara for one night and it was a nice quite place in a pleasant setting. It's garden and wildlife are a pleasure to be in and watch over during breakfast. The room was smallish but perfectly comfortable apart from the mozzies! There's a great net over the bed so sleeping without being nibbled is absolutely fine but the bathroom was full of them so I got bitten three times just popping to the loo. Being in nature has its benefits and downsides! Friendly staff though and good location for a 20 mins walk into unawatuna without the hustle and bustle of the town itself.

Quiet, Clean, Convenient, Spacious

We were a group of medical students who stayed regularly in this fantastic property. Amira the housekeeper is brilliant and keeps the house spotless. The rooms are very large all with en-suites and there is a beautiful garden. It is located off the main road so is quiet but still very conveniently located for both access to Galle Fort and to Unawatuna. I would highly recommend this place.

A beautiful property

My wife and I, and a friend, stayed here in January 2017 and are happy to see it finally appear on Trip Advisor! We had a wonderful, relaxing week and were very lucky as we discovered the Thambara Villa by accident. It comprises four large double bedrooms with ensuites, a communal lounge/dining are and kitchen where you can prepare your own meals or order breakfasts from. The major highlight is the beautiful garden which attracts some fantastic bird life, including kingfishers and even birds of paradise! The villa is situated done a quiet lane of a main interest which has easy access to Galle (10 minutes max by yuk tuk) and the beaches which are also walkable. A great find, great value and highly recommended.
