Don't be fooled by what it looks like on the outside - the rooms are very disappointing!

This hotel was very strange, it looked lovely from the outside and the reception looked very impressive
Sadly the rooms were very poor.
My room had a double bed and there was little space for anything else in the room.
There was no space to open your suitcase. You had to open it inside the door.
There was a fridge, kettle and tea. Air con and a small balcony.
The cups were dirty and one of the glasses had water in it, clearly these had not been checked after the previous guests
The bathroom was really basic and not clean.
The washbasin was dirty, the toilet had not been cleaned.
The pressure shower was extremely weak and very dirty. The taps were corroded, the wall mounted rack in the shower was corroded, the shower leaked on the floor.
I think that the daily cleaning was just to change the bedding! It would appear that nothing else was checked or cleaned.
At Breakfast - there was a good selection of hot and cold foods and a proper coffee machine.
Hot fried eggs were available which was nice.
The breakfast opened at 07:00 and at 07:20 they set up an omelette station - why not have it open at 07:00.

Terrible

Very poor. Man at reception very rude and unpleasant. Refuses almost all requests. The toilet was broken and they got someone to repair it which took ages. They gave us a partially drank bottled water. Water must be very expensive here for them to recycle it to guests. The shower room floods up. Shower pressure low. We had to share 1 key card between 2 friends because key cards are very valuable to them. Terrible place to stay

Just average, but better than many in the city I suppose

This place is in desperate need of an update. Things were acceptably clean, but it’s a 1970s Soviet time warp. The room was very stark and very brown. We were told that oftentimes you had to choose between having electricity or having hot water. We had both, sort of; the water pressure was abysmal, the water was tepid, not hot, and it ran out every night just as I was finishing my shower. Then my husband had to wait about 30 minutes for the water to return. The bathroom was ok – fairly nice towels with a good amount of towel bars/hooks and decent counter space for toiletries. The bed was hard as a rock, which didn’t lend itself to comfortable sleeping. The elevators were scary – made lots of noises that made us wonder if they were going to survive another night. Breakfast wasn’t great. No eggs, no bread other than sweet pastries, no yogurt, etc. And they didn’t keep things stocked so we had to wait almost 15 minutes for coffee cups. Staff was OK – nothing special, not overly friendly or helpful. They refused to give us an extra blanket, they took our slippers after the first night, wouldn’t allow us to buy a drink at the bar and charge it to our room – cash only. And then there was uncertainty as to whether we had to pay in U.S. dollars or Tajik Somoni, necessitating a conference with the manager. It’s in a nice location within walking distance of a couple of things and right on the river. This is the 2nd largest city in Tajikistan and if they’re serious about growing and attracting more business and tourist dollars, they’re going to need to do much better than this place.

Small room, otherwise adequate

I stayed here only one night. The location is very good. It took quite a while to get checked in, but I finally made it. The room was surprisingly small, but it was clean. The bed was also sufficiently comfortable. Breakfast was OK but nothing to get excited about. I would probably consider another hotel if I was in town again. But I admit that it may not be possible to improve on this choice.

only for the location and language: they speech some english.

the location is perfect. just be aware that all what the other reviews said its so true. the room smells, the AC is good, the beds are hard. no space for luggage. the shower clucked. do not try the restaurant is creepy. breakfast very limited, no yogurt. tables are dirty, food trays don't even touch them.
Note: the location is the best in town. tons of foreign tours stay here.
*in Kunjand, every restaurant only takes tajis $$. only KFC takes the electronic cc payment. and its nice. looks like fine dinning compared.
