Chill and benevolence
After a week of safaris, being in this small haven of peace was a real pleasure.
Hotel type boarding house, nestled by the beach, far from any tumult, you are warmly welcomed by the bosses.
Relaxing and chilly atmosphere, you enjoy the beach (at high tide!) and the pool.
Local cuisine, generous and excellent.
Discreet, smiling and kind staff.

A small oasis in the south of Zanzibar
The African Paradise is a small, privately run hotel in the south of Zanzibar and was a real oasis for us. With only five rooms, the atmosphere is very personal and familiar. We felt at home from the very first day.
We would especially like to highlight the excellent food. It was so delicious that in the end we almost only ate at the hotel, because it didn't taste better anywhere else.
The hotel is located practically right on the beach. There is sand everywhere, and you can still experience the authentic life of the locals here. At low tide, the sea recedes very far, and the local people work and search in the mudflats. That was very interesting for us to observe and is simply part of this special region of Zanzibar.
We were there for six days and took various excursions from there: one day in the north, the Blue Safari tour, and a visit to Stone Town. We spent the remaining days relaxing at the hotel and taking long walks on the beach. We also visited the nearby Sunset Point.
It was a wonderful and unforgettable week. We can especially recommend this hotel to anyone who does not want to stay in the middle of the tourist centers of Zanzibar and for whom it is not so important to be able to swim directly in the sea every day. Anyone looking for peace, warmth, good food, and authentic Zanzibar is in the right place here.

This hotel is not only an African paradise, but also the paradise on earth!!!
We have spent 4 nights in this beautiful area of east coast of Zanzibar and we found the best place to rest our souls and bodies.
The owners, a beautiful couple from Turkey, Pia & Hasim, are more than business. They're a family, friends and do anything for their customers to feel like home. Their staff, a lot of kind and smiley local faces, is the best we met after 2 weeks in Tanzania.
They also have one of the best restaurants in the area , they call Leo bar with excellent food and good prices.
We loved their 2 cute dogs and their lazy cats!!!!
They also organise a free boat tour around the area and the big reef.
This is the best place to be in the east coast!!!!

JUST AMAZING
This small hotel was one of the best we have ever stayed in. It is right on the beach and has stunning views of the sea and amazing sunrises. It is in a peaceful location with miles and miles of sandy beach to walk on. Pia and Hassim were the most amazing, friendly hosts - nothing was too much trouble for them. Communication before we arrived was second to none. They helped with so much information and arranging of transfers, etc. All the staff were so so friendly and attentive. All food was cooked to order and what a variety of tasty offerings! The 5 days we spent here were a perfect ending to a busy trip in various parts of Africa. If we ever return to Zanzibar we would not hesitate to stay here.

Amazing Hotel in Paradise, with Wonderful Hosts
On arrival we received a warm welcome from Pia and Hasim the owners, with a welcome drink and cake. The 6 Bedroom Hotel was set in a perfect location with direct access to the quiet powdery white sand beach, but only a short distance to Paje, if you wanted something more lively. We stayed in the beautifully decorated and very clean 2 Bedroom Suite with private balcony and seaview overlooking the pool and beach.
Pia, Hasim and their excellent staff were so attentive to their guest needs throughout our 11 night stay, even to the extent of offering guests a Free Boat Snorkeling Trip, unlimited tea and coffee throughout the day, everyday, plus free cakes in the afternoons.
The food they served was excellent from the large 3 plate breakfast, consisting of a Fruit Plate, a Meze or Waffle/Pancake Plate and finished off with an Egg Plate with Toast. The lunch and evening meal menu had a good variation of dishes from local to western meals to suit everyone's palette, of which every meal we had was very good, especially the fish and seafood, plus the wali maharage.
Then at the end of our stay before we left the African Paradise, Pia and Hasim even gave us leaving gifts, to help us remember our memorable stay with them at their Hotel/House.
