Great location and restaurant, but unacceptable service and management
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a woman at reception who barely said hello. She simply printed our booking, showed us the calculator price, took our payment, and unlocked our room without providing any basic information about breakfast, house rules, or housekeeping.
The room had a strange odor, clogged shower drains, rusty fixtures, no hangers, and only one towel for two guests. When we requested extra towels and hangers, we returned to find only one hanger provided for a 6-night stay.
The next morning, we discovered water wasn't included with breakfast (only coffee/tea, eggs, one sausage, and toast). When we asked to speak to the manager about the issues and the charged water, the same woman from check-in—who turned out to be the manager—ignored us for several minutes with her back turned before dismissively asking what we wanted. While she did allow us to switch rooms (which had better drainage and hangers) and waived the water fee, basic issues persisted.
Housekeeping was extremely poor and confusing; we were never informed that keys needed to be left at reception for cleaning. Even when we left the key, the floor remained dirty, extra sheets were taken and not replaced, and we still had to constantly ask for a second towel and drinking water (which we never recieved). The TV in the room didn't work either.
The most shocking incident occurred when the staff and remaining guests were gathered in the garden watching a music show projected on a screen. The manager locked up the restaurant, walked over, intentionally turned off the projector mid-show without a word, looked at us provocatively, and walked away—leaving both guests and her own staff stunned.
Overall, at 1,000,000 TZS for 6 nights, this was absolutely not worth the money.
Pros:
Location: Excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from Coco Beach.
Restaurant: Good food and very friendly, polite restaurant staff.
Cons:
Management & Service: Extremely unprofessional, rude, and unwelcoming management.
Housekeeping: Poor cleaning quality and lack of basic amenities (had to constantly ask for towels and water).
Facilities: Clogged drains, rust in bathrooms, and non-functioning TV.
We cannot recommend the hotel side of this establishment to anyone.

Good place
Clean. Central. They take a pretty high price for using drivers, so use Bolt instead. It is the easiest thing in Dar anyway. Works great.
Absolutely great place to stay.

Salt Garden - worth it!
Very calm and cozy!!!! Surely worth the stay and will look forward to stay again on my next visit. Will recommend others too who are visiting Dar Es Salaam!
