Exceptional hotel
I visited this hotel with my adult daughter and was a little worried as there were a few negative reviews. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world and can honestly say that this hotel scores highly.
We arrived early quite prepared to be told that our room wasn't ready and were checked in quickly by a friendly staff member on reception. We liked the ribbon wrist bands that were also our room keys, meaning they were safely on us all the time, no scrabbling around in bags looking for key cards.
We were upgraded to a sea and pool view room which was lovely. The room and the whole hotel is spotlessly clean.
The breakfast was fantastic with a massive choice. There are breads, fruits, yoghurt, nuts, seeds, porridge, cereals, sweet and savoury pastries, doughnuts, churros, waffles, mini pancakes, omelettes and eggs cooked fresh for you, a hot food station with bacon, sausages etc, cold meats and cheeses, smoothies made fresh on request. I've only seen one hotel provide a better breakfast and that was a 5 star plus hotel that also had champagne on ice each morning and I paid alot more there per night than here!
The pools were very nice and although we didn't use the gym it was very nice.
There's been some mention in other reviews about noise from other guests and the music being played. We didn't have an issue with either. The music around the pool and terrace was soft background music, not a problem at all. Our room was very quiet, maybe we were lucky with the surrounding guests, but noone was noisy or woke us up in the night.
The WiFi is excellent and there is a kettle and a good very quiet fridge in the room.
On our last day we checked out at 11am and were allowed to store our luggage in a locked room and continue to use all facilities until we left for our flight home at 6pm. They even let us use a shower room next to the gym to freshen up and change before we left.
We had one minor issue in our room late one evening which was sorted promptly by the security man who was on duty, he was a star!
The views from the restaurant, terrace and balcony are amazing.
Location is also excellent, it is literally the same short distance to the beach at Palma Nova as it is to the beach at Magaluf.
Another review complained about the slingshot ride which is visible from the poolside views. This doesn't operate until late at night and although it runs until the early hours you cannot hear it with the balcony door shut. I found it quite amusing watching people being catapulted into outer space at night from my balcony, but it's not intrusive in any way.
The steep hill that everyone mentions isn't really that bad either.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to stay in a lovely modern looking hotel that is clean, comfortable, serves the best breakfast and has great staff and is in a good location.

Dirty hotel room
This was our 3rd time staying at this hotel and i am incredibly disappointed.
When we first stayed here it was newly refurbished and I couldn’t fault the place. However, this time it was an awful stay.
Firstly, we were over looking the hotel next door which seems to be a rough party hotel and every night we got woken up by loud teenagers shouting on their balcony’s, along with people screaming on the slingshot that’s right on the hotel.
Our room was DIRTY. The shower head was filthy, looked like it had never been cleaned. Our shower over filled 3 times on our stay and I reported it every time. Was never fixed, seems to be a common issue as another lady was reporting the same issue at the same time as me.
I used our white floor mat to mop up the water from the shower, picked it up and it was brown from the dirty floor. I reported this to reception and it took the maids 3 times of me asking to mop our floors.
There are so many areas that need sorting, the sealant in the rooms has come away, there’s been a leak in the ceiling above the shower that’s been patched up, the brick work on the balcony is horrendous and looks patched up too which is very worrying.
I stayed in a 4 star in Greece in May and it was miles above this place. Definitely is more a 3 star than a 4.
Unfortunately I don’t think we will be staying here again now.

What is especially unfortunate is that during your 10-night stay, you did not express your dissatisfaction to anyone at the hotel or give us the opportunity to properly address your concerns. We truly wish you had spoken to us in person, as we would have been more than happy to listen and do everything possible to make your stay more comfortable.
Regarding the shower, we would like to clarify that our maintenance team did attend your room on two separate occasions, at different times during your 10-night stay, to check and repair the issue you reported. Showers can occasionally become blocked due to an accumulation of sand, hair or other residue, particularly in a beach destination. However, whenever an issue is reported, our maintenance team responds and works to resolve it, as they did in your case.
We are also sorry that you felt the room was not as clean as you expected. Cleanliness and maintenance are very important to us, and we regret that on this occasion you were not satisfied with these aspects of your stay.
It is particularly disappointing to receive two negative reviews after you have chosen to stay with us four times. The hotel you previously enjoyed is still the same hotel: our rooms remain the same, our facilities remain the same, and our team is still the same team working every day to provide our guests with a pleasant experience.
We fully respect your opinion, but we do find it unfortunate that you chose not to share your concerns with us directly during your stay. Had you done so, we would have had the opportunity to speak with you personally, understand your concerns and try to resolve them while you were still here.
Nevertheless, we sincerely appreciate the four occasions on which you have chosen to stay with us, and we are sorry that this particular visit did not meet your expectations. We only wish you had given us the opportunity to discuss everything with you in person.

Solo holiday
I had a lovely time away, unfortunately I would not stay at this hotel again as my room was facing a party hotel that did not stop all night long and they could see straight into my room so had to close the curtains while getting changed.
There was also a fire exit next to my room 306 which was constantly open, think the housekeepers used it, as being alone it didnt feel safe at night.
I did request a pool facing room and told this to management but they said there were no single rooms on the pool side and I could pay extra to upgrade which I found it a bit of a rude response but at least I had a response unlike when I emailed to tell them I had left an item behind, still waiting for a response on that.
Only other issue was they dont take cash at the bars so be aware of this.
Overall I did have a lovely holiday and if I was to go back to mallorca I would stay more in the palma nova area.

Was concerned
Was a bit concerned with some reviews but was fortunate enough to have experienced no problems with noise. The room was nice and clean, the bathroom nice, shower excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good with something for everyone. Had dinner there a couple of times aswell and found it very enjoyable with prices competitive. One moan was that the smaller plunge pool was taken over with annoying groups with balls and drinks which was a shame. Overall though a great hotel.

So good we rebooked!!!!
We stayed at the Caramelo for four nights in August and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. By complete coincidence, our stay fell around the solar eclipse, and we had absolutely no idea when we booked that Majorca was going to be such an incredible place to see it!
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Sam on reception was fantastic – incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He told us we had a gorgeous room with a wraparound balcony and gave us all the information we needed about the hotel and surrounding area.
When we got to our room, we were so pleasantly surprised. It was spotlessly clean, really well equipped and the wraparound balcony was amazing, with beautiful views from two sides. Little did we know at the time just how lucky we were to have that particular room – it ended up giving us the perfect view of the solar eclipse right from our own balcony! It made an already special holiday even more memorable.
The pool is genuinely one of the best hotel pools I’ve ever been in. The whole hotel has such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, everywhere is kept beautifully clean, the food was great and every member of staff we encountered was friendly and welcoming.
We also have to give a special mention to Joey on reception, who was absolutely fabulous. She was always there with a smile and couldn’t have been more helpful, particularly when helping us arrange taxis and anything else we needed.
Although we dealt more personally with Sam and Joey, every single member of staff deserves a mention – from the bar staff to the restaurant team and everyone working behind the scenes. You really do have a fantastic team and they are a credit to the Caramelo.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we actually rebooked to come back in October before we’d even left! We asked reception if there was any chance we could have the same room again, and amazingly they managed to arrange that for us too, which was the icing on the cake.
Thank you to Sam, Joey and the entire Caramelo team for making our stay so special. We arrived as first-time guests and left already counting down the weeks until we return.
See you all again in October! ❤️
