Took numerous years to complete

It seems that the Dominican presence began in the early 16th century. But it was many years later in the following century that completion was reached.
Early Baroque is the predominant style of the Church. However Mudejar influence is also well represented. All resulting in a lovely presence.

REST IN AN IDEAL PLACE.

THE BED VERY COMFORTABLE, A VERY QUIET PLACE TO REST. THE CHURCH IS BEAUTIFUL. BUT THE BEST THING IS THE ATTENTION OF THE SISTERS, SISTER INÉS (CORTÉS) SHOWED US THE CHURCH AND ATTENDED US WITH A LOT OF LOVE. WE TOOK PLEASANT MEMORIES OF THE CONVENT AND FROM CARMONA. THANK YOU

Perfect good value basic accommodation, and a warm welcome

I love staying in convents and monasteries and was thrilled when I spotted this on TA. The building is a bit hard to find (would perhaps benefit from better signage) but the welcome by the multinational nuns couldn’t have been warmer or kinder. My little cell had a single bed, a window and a WC/shower. It had an AC/heating unit I didn’t try. I suspect it might get hot in the summer but at this time of year it was perfect. Unlike similar establishments there are no curfews. All for 35 euros for a single - and the money goes to a worthy cause!

Silent but no air conditioning

This place is a monastery and VERY quiet, which is nice. It is situated just next to Plaza San Fernando, where You will find lots of bars, life and noise.
The single room was fine - small but with a good bed, table and chair and a simple bathroom. Everything very clean. I had wifi in the room that worked well.
There is NO air conditioning but just a noisy fan. For that reason I will not recommend this place from June to September. I stayed in September where it was 37 degrees, and
I did not have a lot of sleep for that reason.

A quiet room, a friendly atmosphere & an old city's charm

Convento Madre de Dios is located at the heart of old Carmona, a charming, small and walled city, which precedes the Roman times, and have many interesting remains and artifacts to offer from its rich and impressing past.
We stayed at this simple and modest convent for 3 nights, and enjoyed its unique atmosphere, the Nuns' friendly attitude (many compliments to Nilce), its central location (at one of the narrow allies which surround Plaza San Fernando), relatively economic price, and its proximity to Sevilla.
Our small twin bed room and private bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the room size was not an issue, since most of the time we spent outside the convent.
For those who prefer a quiet room, a friendly atmosphere, an old city's experience at a reasonable price, and not too far from Sevilla - Convento Madre de Dios at Carmona is a perfect solution.
Do not miss the Necropolis (Carmona's ancient cemetery), and if you rent a car make sure its size fits the winding and narrow Carmona's allies.
