The atypical hotel.
When you travel along the A-1, Madrid-Burgos highway, at kilometer 115, suddenly these little hotel houses appear, which attract a lot of attention. Every time I passed by there, I was very curious, and finally, I went to spend a weekend in May. They are located in a service area, in the town of Boceguillas, in Segovia. The complex is very large, and is made up, in addition to the houses, of a restaurant, cafeteria, shop, rooms for events, gardens, terraces, a small indoor pool, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Boceguillas is very small, and has no tourist interest, but it is strategically located to visit beautiful towns in Segovia, such as Sepúlveda or Pedraza, natural environments of great beauty, such as the Hoces del Río Duratón or the Hayedo de Tejera Negra, and also a comfortable distance from cities like Madrid, Burgos or Valladolid.
This business is family-owned, and it shows. It shows in the involvement, in the desire to please, and in the personal and different touch in the decoration. It is managed by the owner, a pleasant woman who is attentive to everything and cares about the well-being of her clients. We saw her several times during our stay, as she came over to ask us if everything was okay. We asked for a change of house, and there was no problem, they changed us immediately. One of the employees stands out, who was charming and efficient, named Irene.
But returning to the houses, there are 18. They are made of stone, and each one has its own garage. The style is rustic. Inside, the room is spacious, with air conditioning, flat screen television, a large and comfortable bed, and also a type of desk with 2 chairs. The bathroom is also spacious, and has a bathtub, bidet and double sink. The kitchen is small, with the basics for two people, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. There is a welcome gift, which consists of a bottle of water and some sweets. Outside, a table, 2 chairs and 2 sun loungers, which you want to take advantage of when the weather permits. I advise booking the houses furthest from the road, since those that are closest, although they are soundproof, depending on the time, if you go out to enjoy the outdoors, your landscape will be the cars driving on the road, and the music of background, the noise they make as they pass.
Everything is very clean. What a pleasure!
We paid €127 each night, with the Booking website. The price includes breakfast, which seemed a bit basic to me, and although they make it, I didn't like the oil bread too much. However, if you come to have breakfast on your own, there are many sweet options, which are visible, in beautiful glass containers.
The cafeteria has very long hours, and is open from 7:30 in the morning. It has an extensive menu, which includes everything from sandwiches, around €6 or €7, to typical roasts from the area for around €24.50. There are 2 set menus for €19.90. If you prefer to eat in the beautiful glass-domed restaurant, the menu is Castilian cuisine, also with roasts. Among other things, they offer a “route menu” for €37.90.
I can't forget the store, which is accessed through the cafeteria. If the hotel casitas are something unexpected in that environment, the store is no less so. There is a great variety of products, very beautiful and of good taste, as well as gourmet foods. I spent a long time looking at everything. It is the ideal store to choose a gift.

We were very cold in the house
January 19 in the afternoon. A heavy snowfall falls in the area and we go to this hotel to take refuge. The complex is very nice. They give us the house that has not been used for 4 days according to the owner. It's very cold. They turn on 2 heat pumps for us but the house does not heat up at bedtime so we ask for a heater. So things improve but slowly.
But what bothered me the most were the excuses they made for the coldness of the house and the fact that the underfloor heating did not work. The price for that night €140.
The owner was very unfriendly and professional. I advise going only in spring/summer.

A good stopover
Good place as a stopover, we stayed with our two dogs. Spacious accomodation with all amenities, the attached garage was a great advantage. Good evening meal. Unfortunately the dogs are not allowed in the hotel. Breakfast does not start until 8 am which can be a little late when keen to get on the road.

Above and beyond
From the outside this looks like a typical Spanish pit stop on the autovia with a fuel station and a quick sandwich.
It is so much more. Tucked away behind are 18 suites with their own attached garage, spotlessly clean, they offer all you need.
Back at reception there’s a bar and restaurant with immaculate staff and excellent food.
There’s even a swimming pool.
A complete and utter surprise.
Brilliant.

Best hotel 10 out of 10
When doing a long distance drive, in our case from south of Spain to the UK; this is the best hotel to stop at. I’ve done the drive many times and this is now my favorite hotel. The great thing about this hotel is that each chalet has its own internal garage. Meaning you do not need to unload all of your bags from the car.
The chalets are spotless. Immaculately clean. The bed is super comfortable. Had a nice bottle of wine and a home bakes cake awaiting me when I reached my room. I truly recommend this property for stopping off for a great rest on a long distance drive.
