Basic but great
Great Hotel. Very basic but that is to be expectedly. The bed is really comfy and everything that you need is present. The room was nice and cool because of the airconditioning even while it was a very hot day. There is also free coffee available for guests. If you are looking for a place to stay around Riopar, I would definitely recommend La Rueda!

A great place to stay
We went with friends to Riopar & stopped at La Rueda, the hotel was easy to find & we were greeted with a warm welcome. The hotel was clean & warm, the beds were very comfortable. The owner was very helpful & knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was tremendous with plenty of choices. We had no trouble with parking & really enjoyed our stay, I would use this hotel again.

Superb base for walkers
I am sat in front of a beautiful log fire in the lounge diner of this perfect little hostal on night two of our stay. I am with 8 members of our walking group and we have just completed a testing circular walk of 17km and 1000m ascents- 7.5 hours.I am reflecting on what an ideal place this is to base yourself to enjoy this wonderful walking area. The rooms though cosy are very comfortable and clean and perhaps mpst importantly in these covid times they take safety and hygiene to a great level. The breakfasts are superb and we have also eaten two very nice meals here. The hosts Elisabeth and her husband are brilliant. Efficient but very friendly and a mine of information re the local area. Totally recommend!

5 Star Service
Remembering this is only a 2 star hostal, don't expect luxury accommodation; nevertheless, all the essentials are there....a comfortable bed, quality linen and everything you'd need for a short stay. All Covid regulations were adhered to, meticulously and our room and all public places were spotlessly clean. However, the highlight of our visit was, undoubtedly, the service that we and all other guests received.
Elisabeth and José made sure that an intimate and personal atmosphere was maintained in everything they did to fulfil our requests and suggest places of local interest. Breakfast was varied, freshly prepared each morning, served at our table according to regulations and they took pride in promoting local, even organic, produce.
As vegetarians, we found little choice, in Riópar, for our evening meals, so we ate at La Rueda on all three nights. Once again, Elisabeth and José were flexible about their menu and served us three delicious and attractive courses on each occasion. They have an interesting wine list, too!
If ever there was a couple determined to work hard and overcome this current situation, this is it. They provided some of the best attention we have received, here, in Spain and deserve every success. In fact, we have already decided that we shall definitely be returning whenever we need to escape to this beautiful part of the country and enjoy a little pampering. Thank you, both, for a lovely break.

Better than expected
Apart from the obvious advantage of being located in a beautiful mountain town, Le Rueda is a modern, well equipped and well managed hotel. The room was newly decorated, the bathroom very modern and well equipped and the whole place was welcoming and in good condition. The pleasant surprise was the superb sunlit breakfast room and the quality of the catering and the service. There was also the bonus of a side courtyard. All in all a pleasant stay and very good value.
