Montraj Coach Sukhumvit is a chic boutique hotel in the heart of Asoke, offering an atmosphere reminiscent of sleeping in a luxurious 1930s-era train. Enjoy drinks and listen to jazz in its hidden underground bar.
Looking for a chill staycation with easy access but a unique and unforgettable experience? Look no further than this place! They've created an atmosphere that feels like you've stepped into a luxurious vintage train. From the moment you enter the reception area, you'll feel like you're waiting to board a special carriage. The decor features wood and dark-toned leather, creating a sleek, warm, and very private ambiance.
This time, I stayed in a unique room that felt like a private train cabin. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the amenities were complete. Plus, in the morning, you could choose to have breakfast delivered to your room, or enjoy it by the rooftop pool with views of Bangkok – a different kind of atmosphere altogether.
Abandoned Mansion, a hidden underground bar, is a highlight you don't want to miss. Tucked away in the hotel's basement, it's decorated in a 1930s American gangster theme. Sip on signature drinks while listening to live jazz music in a romantic atmosphere. It's perfect for chilling out or a date night.
The hotel offers complete facilities, including a rooftop pool with panoramic city views and a fitness center for those who enjoy working out. Importantly, it's very conveniently located; just get off at BTS Asok or MRT Sukhumvit and walk a short distance into Sukhumvit Soi 14.

The photos on the website make the hotel look nicer and more spacious than it actually is.
The swimming pool was quite disappointing. It looks much larger in the photos, but in reality it is relatively small.
The rooms are not very large, but they are reasonably nice and comfortable.
On the positive side, the service was good. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was okay.
One issue we experienced several times was with the toilet, which did not always flush properly. We reported this on several occasions. To be fair, the manager was very understanding, apologized for the inconvenience, and tried to accommodate us, which we appreciated.
The hotel is located on a busy street, so it can be quite noisy at times, even with the windows and doors closed.
Overall, there were some positive aspects, especially the friendly staff and the manager’s willingness to help. However, based on our experience, I am not sure whether I would choose to stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Bangkok. There are some good points, but I feel there are other hotels that may offer a better overall experience.

Must be nearly impossible to control the humidity in Bangkok but everything smelled of mildew. Unworn clothing needed to be washed after just sitting in the room a couple days.

What a place !
Ok, so this place is legit my favorite stay ever. Not over the top fancy but fancy in its own way(like from past generations)
I love everything about this place but the “speak easy” in the basement is absolutely astounding, like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s like a throwback to a different era, with live performances above the bar on their own little stage. A restaurant and bar where all the comfy armchair lounges face the bar and entertainment, in a “peaky blinders” sort of feel. Cocktails were amazing and their presentation was incredible. I could literally move in here!

Very disappointing.
Poor soundproofing with their parties in the basement every night until 2 or 3 in the morning.
Breakfast in the room, knowing that you shouldn't forget to order it with the form, otherwise too bad, even though an all-you-can-eat breakfast in a dining room was advertised, but oh well.
And one last detail: a stuffed animal was left behind in a room, which they kept.
Actually, after paying DHL 60 to retrieve it and have it mailed to us, the hotel refused.
So, thanks for everything.
