Excellent Stay With An infant
We would happily recommend the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam to families looking for a comfortable and convenient stay. Bangkok welcomed us with its familiar buzz, and for our little family of three, the Berkeley Hotel became our cosy haven in the middle of it all. Situated right in the heart of Pratunam, the hotel felt like the perfect base to explore the city’s energy — from bustling street markets to sprawling shopping centres like Central World, Platinum Mall, a Big C supermarket all just a short stroll away. The 7-eleven around the corner from the hotel was open 24 hours and it was such a blessing to be able to get our essentials at any time of the day. The hotel also connects to the Palladium mall (it has seen better days and is mostly vacant now) but it has a few fast food places and small clothing retail shops but not too much to shout about. There was even a lovely nightly market from 5pm to 12pm each evening that had a wide variety of stalls.
Stepping into our luxury room in the main tower, we were greeted by sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows that opened up to stunning views of Central World and the R-Walk. Our 1-year-old was instantly captivated by the city lights, while we appreciated the beautifully clean room and spotless bathroom. Even the absence of hot water in the basin hardly mattered — the warm Bangkok air made it feel refreshing. The King size bed was extremely comfortable and the linen was luxurious. The room was also done up wonderfully for our anniversary and the staff kept our room spotless through out our 7 night stay.
Breakfast quickly became a highlight of our stay. Each morning felt like a small culinary adventure, with local and international dishes laid out in abundance. We loved that the halal and vegetarian stations were clearly separated from the pork section — a thoughtful detail that made our mornings worry-free and enjoyable. Even during the peak season and peak breakfast hours, there was enough seating and we didn’t need to wait long for any item.
Our baby’s favourite spot was undoubtedly the large swimming pool. The games room had multiple game tables that could keep young ones and parents entertained. The staff made us feel so welcome, always smiling and ready to help — small gestures that made travelling with a toddler feel effortless. The only negative was that guests would come and place towels before breakfast and occupy the pool chairs for a considerable amount of time without physically being there, this led to there being minimal seating for those that wanted to use the pool at their convenience.
As our Bangkok days unfolded, the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam gave us the comfort of a relaxing retreat after exploring the vibrant city. For families seeking convenience, excellent staff who go the extra mile for guests, warmth, and a touch of luxury in the heart of Bangkok, we couldn’t recommend it more and would definitely return in future.

Excellent hotel, staff and location.
Loved this hotel, very clean, lovely staff and a great location for plenty of markets and shops. Breakfast was delicious and there was so much on offer like fresh omelettes and all sorts.
Cocktails were lovely and we enjoyed the food.

Dissapointed
I am very disappointed with my experience, especially since I have stayed at The Berkeley Hotel more than five times over the years.
I booked and paid for a 55 m² room, but upon arrival I was informed that only a 35 m² room was available due to a technical mismatch between the hotel’s system and Agoda. This meant my family was given a room approximately 20 m² smaller than the one we specifically selected and paid for.
Regardless of whether the issue originated with Agoda or the hotel, the result was that we did not receive the accommodation we booked. For a stay of several nights, this is a significant difference in comfort and value.
I expected a much better solution considering this was not my mistake. As a loyal returning guest, I had hoped the hotel would work with Agoda to provide a comparable or upgraded room rather than leaving us with a significantly smaller room.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed and has made me reconsider staying at The Berkeley Hotel in the future.

This hotel was the most disappointing out of all three that we stayed at.
The pool had in excess of 20 children at any one time, some bombing in the pool, some in nappies and others throwing balls. You could not relax in this space.
We paid for additional buffet breakfast on arrival and had to cancel the last morning a couple of days out. A refund was refused despite 48 hours notice. Finally, we never had fresh towels supplied to our room for the entirety of our stay. Definitely better hotels than this one.
