Knowing Koh Tao
It is a hotel located a little away from the village (harbor), but has an excellent view of the sea and the local landscape. When you arrive at the port the hotel offers you the free pick-up service, but I recommend when you arrive rent a scooter (motorcycle) or order nro of available taxis that you can find, because to get around walking later it is very far away and a paved road with a lot of slope.

Incredible views...the rest is ok
You pay for the views which are absolutely incredible and worth it! The setting is beautiful and I spent hours just watching the scenery. Pick up and drop off from the pier was easy and free. The hosts aren't particularly friendly but I prefer to be left alone so that style suited me just fine.
Bungalows are simple with stained curtains and bedding, uncomfortable pillows and pretty hard beds. The air con and wifi worked great! Breakfast is ok - you get basic coffee and artificial orange juice, anything of better quality is not included and was extra. At the price point of this hotel, I expected better.
The hotel description on tripadvisor and amex site state that it has a private beach which is not true - there is no beach access; no path that you can take down to the water. I was specifically looking for a place with beach access so misrepresenting this on their description was not appreciated. Also they do not take credit cards which is ridiculous for a hotel in this day and age.
The restaurant on site is pretty expensive. I only tried their fried banana and ice cream and wasn't impressed enough to want to try anything else. I ate at a nearby restaurant that was a 5 minute walk and a third of the price.

Fantastic view. Very simple accomodation. Great cocktails, a bit overpriced food was ok. There is no direct path to the beach, you have to walk for 25 minutes along a hilly, dangerous and busy main road to get there. The pictures are deceiving on Trip.com, as they show villas right on the beach which the hotel doesnt have. The rooms were not sealed so there were tons of ants and other bugs in the main room, bedroom and bathroom. We saw them filling a kitchen pot out of these big plastic bins full of roof runoff rainwater on the main balcony area. We had an issue with our booking on arrival and they were a bit unwelcoming and overly concerned with their side of the issue. The free trip to the ferry on the last day was appreciated, though.

Beautiful Views!
We didn’t stay at Blue Heaven Resort. The review is based on the cafe/restaurant at Blue Heaven Resort. We hired a taxi with a driver to take us to 4 places for 1,500 Baht. The views at Blue Heaven are beautiful. The drinks at Blue Heaven were excellent.

Best views, amazing authentic restaurant, lovely hosts.
I have been to Koh Tao 4 times and stayed in 5 different resorts and I can honestly say that Blue Heaven offers the very best Koh Tao experience. My reason for holidaying in Koh Tao is to enjoy the beautiful natural setting, to experience the local culture and amazing food. Blue Heaven offers this in perfection.
The first thing that will hit you when arriving are the amazing views across Aow Leuk Bay and out to Shark Island. This is the reception / restaurant / bar, a favourite place. The resort is at the top of a ridge in a natural setting amongst lush tropical foliage.
There are 7 bungalows that are all very private and well appointed. The air conditioning is AMAZING, especially when it is a hot humid day. We stayed in one with a lovely balcony and open air bathroom (see photos) Even the bathroom had amazing views!
We loved the restaurant and ended up eating dinner there 7 out of the 8 nights of our stay. The highlights on the menu were the soft shell crab, whole barramundi, Tom Yum & Tom Kah soups and the family favourite spicy pork mince dish. Soooo good.
Blue Heaven is away from the hustle & bustle of Sairee Beach, which is only a short 10 minute ride by scooter away. If you get the chance, go to Blue Heaven, you will love it!! (Even if it just for a meal)
